"I find it quite fun," Abigail said as they walked across the football field before the football game. "sex, i mean."

Jade rolled her eyes. "well obviously you think that, but I don't. sex is kind of disgusting."

Abigail nudged her shoulder "how do you know? you haven't even had sex."

Jade rolled her eyes and walked off away from Abigail to grab some water off the bench and applied more red lipstick to her already stained lips. She sat down, her blue skirt hiking up her mid thigh.

She watched as Elijah ran out with Caleb in their football gear preparing for the game.
Whatever had happened between the two this afternoon, was over now. They had both collected their bikes and rode back to their houses, prepared for the game, and left the small little word they had this afternoon locked away somewhere else.

Jade knew if she ever unlocked it, she'd regret it entirely. Elijah and Jade weren't each other's types. maybe they had similarities, but they were as different as the sun and moon.

"hey, Jade?" the head cheerleader, Diana, said as she sat down beside her. "can you do me a favour?"

Jade nodded. "Sure."

"can you go and get my shoes from the boys locker room? I have to go and find my jacket."

"why are your shoes in the boys locker room?" Jade asked.

Diana winked and skipped off yelling a thanks as she ran.

Jade sighed heavily, but never the less she slid off the bench and made her way across the field to where the boys locker room was.

she knocked on the door, yet no one answered, she knocked again, and she still received no answer. she went to knock again but someone stopped her.

"why are you knocking on the locker room doors?" Caleb asked her. she jumped back in shock and looked up at the brown eyes boy.

"because I have to get Diana's shoes." Jade responded.

"go around the back door, and grab them quick so none of the boys see you.cheerleaders aren't allowed in the locker rooms before games." Caleb said as he pulled open the door and disappeared inside.

Jade exhaled roughly out her nose and stormed off to go around the building. she watched as Elijah walked past her, on his way to the locker rooms himself.

"hey," she cried, stopping them both in their tracks. why did it feel so natural to yell out hey to a boy she barley knows? why did she do that?

"hey," Elijah responded with a smirk, spinning on his heels to face her. "why are you going behind the locker room?"

"i-i- um. i need to grab diana's shoes.."

"why are they behind the locker rooms?" Elijah cocked an eyebrow. Jade looked down.

"their not... their in the locker room, actually."

Elijah let out a bellowed laugh. Jade- without even really knowing she was doing so-slapped his arm, which only made him laugh more. "girls aren't allowed in the locker rooms-"

"before a game, I know, but Diana needs her shoes." Jade said cutting him off.

"i'll get them for you," he sighed. Jade looked up at him.

"for real?"

"yes, for real, but-"

Jade rolled her eyes. "how'd I know there was gunna be a but, it's never just a favor with you, there always has to be deal. even when you were a child and we used to go to catholic school together."

Elijah blinked twice, kind of shocked Jade  even mentioned or remembered that they went to the same small town catholic school.

"sorry, but that's my rule. you don't get anywhere in life doing anything for people, or getting things handed to you."

Jade looked down for a moment.

"you change a lot in 60 seconds.." she whispered. she had thought about this already today, and so did he actually.

Elijah ignored her statement. "are you ready to hear my proposal?"

Jade sighed and nodded her head once.

Elijah smirked. "if I get the shoes, you have to sit with us at lunch tomorrow."

Jade didn't even think about it, she just agreed, I mean, it wasn't like Abigail wasn't
going to try and convince her anyways. might as well make two people happy and just sit there.

she did find it odd though. how the two had run away from lunch today and now they were both running towards it. Elijah cupped her shoulder as he walked off, and she shrugged it off.

she hated Elijah Lance Adler. yet, she liked him all the same. only three hours ago the two were very different people. talking about music and somewhere beautiful that they didn't know.

who was Elijah Lance Adler? and why did she hate him and also like him?

she didn't know. but little did she know, tonight she was going to find out..
