Cleaning up the cards, they took her back down a different hallway, as well as up a set of stairs, presumably to the place where they all resided. She didn't know how many flights they walked up, as she was too distracted to pay much attention, but when they reached the top, the door they exited was the last of its kind- this was the top floor. As they carried on, she noted that the cells were almost identical to the ones she had seen on the way in, although now she could get a better look at them.
Each had anywhere between one to three beds in it, all twin sized, alternating between bunks and singles. On each wall, there was a mirror, although many of them were dirty at best, broken at worst. The decimated ones were peeling, confirming her suspicions that they weren't real glass, but rather reflective plastic. Instead of bars, like the first floor, these rooms actually had cinderblock walls and iron doors, although the windows inside were tiny and barred as well. She heard the hum of people talking from afar, as the halls were subject to severe echoing. They strode all the way to the end, Namjoon taking the lead and leaning into the doorway on the left at the very back.
"Hey, you're here, good. I have someone to introduce you to." Stepping out of the way, he allowed Y/N to see into the room. There were two beds, both made with off-white sheets and blankets, although they were neat. There were several items around, making it seem a bit more lived-in than some of the other cells. Sitting on the floor, also looking over a deck of cards, were two more men. She waved weakly, looking at the two of them.
They both were the strongest of the group she'd encountered so far. While they were still lean, they seemed far more fit than the other four, (which was saying something, as they weren't awful themselves). The one on the left had a slender face, hair a dark brown, although the black roots were showing. He waved back, but it didn't feel mocking. He'd just been inclined to do the same. The man on the right, of similar size and build but with a rounder face and darker hair, was the first to speak.
"Hello. I'm Jungkook. You are...?"
"This is Y/N." Hoseok spoke for her. "Namjoon found her outside when the newbies came in, saved her from getting her ass handed to her. She's gonna chill with us." Jungkook tilted his head, just slightly.
"I didn't realize you were resorting to such methods."
"It's not like that." Namjoon said with annoyance, "She could use the help."
"I'm Seokjin." The other man said. "And it's nice to meet you, but I'm sorry I'll have to ignore you for just a minute," He said, looking back to his cards. "Jungkook was just about to lose a bet to me." Stepping a few strides in and knocking him on the back of the head, Namjoon snapped as he yelped in surprise.
"What have I told you about betting? That's what got your dumb ass in here to begin with."
"He went to jail for betting?" Y/N asked in confusion, only noticing after that it might come across as rude.
"Yeah," Seokjin answered for himself. "A little too much a little too quickly." He said. "I always thought it would be the debt that got me, but actually I'm pretty well off."
"You'd better be sharing that when we get out." Hoseok commented.
"Get out?" She said to herself, although it was loud enough that it came across as a question. "Now that I think about it, they didn't tell me when I was going to get a trial, or be let out at all." There was a moment of silence, before all of them broke out into laughter. Looking between them, her brows furrowed as her face heated in embarrassment. Jimin was the only one straight-faced, speaking to her directly for the first time since they'd met. His voice was unsettlingly smooth and fairly deep, and the words he spoke didn't help to calm her nerves.
