"That puts everything in order for tomorrow." Jimin said to the group as they sat in a circle on his floor. Everyone was present aside from Taehyung, who had simply ditched. Their new plan was a little different than Namjoon's original one, but drew off the same ideas. The thought was to sneak out as far as they could go through the air vents, as the one closest to the front of the building would give them easy access to the main fence. At that point, there was no climbing to be done, just outrunning the guards. With any luck, they'd be more concerned with guarding their posts than giving chase. Then, all they had to do was lie low until the guard had been dropped, leaving them home free.
"This-" Jungkook pointed out the vents on the crude drawing. "This whole piece of the operation seems more suited to five people."
"And?" Jimin asked.
"And... we have six." Jungkook finished as if it was obvious. Jimin cursed himself for making such an obvious mistake.
"Well, yeah, it'll work with six." He said spologetically, "If I'm being honest, I've been planning this for a long time, longer than Y/N's been here," he glanced at her apologetically, "so when I reduced the numbers by two, I must have messed up. It's fine, it'll work." He had to hope they didn't see through his plan to only be taking five with them... He couldn't afford for this to go South when they had less than 24 hours to go.
"I... I thought you said you didn't want to leave?" Hoseok asked skeptically.
"I just didn't like the plan we had in place." Jimin had to cover again. God, when did they become so observant? And why did it have to come out now? "Anyway, are we all set?" He asked, rushing them. The longer they were together, the more unpredictability came into the situation. He knew each of their personalities almost like the back of his hand, but when they were together, they influenced each other in ways he wasn't confident he could predict. It was just easier to wait until they were out to let them all talk.
"We need to get Taehyung in here." Namjoon insisted. "A plan won't work if everyone's not aware of it, and we can't just expect him to follow along tomorrow. That's dangerous." Jimin sighed. He really didn't want to have to do this right now, but if Namjoon was demanding it, he supposed the timing could work.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. I just didn't want to bother him." Looking around at the group, he said, "Let's take a five minute break, everyone. Y/N, would you mind going down to the cafeteria to get Taehyung? I think that's where he said he was going last I saw him." She nodded, walking out the door, the other boys filtering out as well, shutting Jimin's door behind them. Before she made it to the stairs, though, she felt a hand catch her arm. Spinning, she realized it was Hoseok.
"Is something up?" She asked.
"I was just wondering..." He breathed in through his nose slowly. She turned fully, now, concerned. It wasn't like him to look so serious. There wasn't a hint of joking in his eyes, and she thought she could almost see... fear? "I don't trust Jimin."
"What?" She asked, immediately jumping to defend him. "Why not? He's trying to help us."
"I don't know, it's just something about... the way he talks to everyone, like he knows exactly what to say, the way he stares at you, it's just..." Her hands moved to adjust her collar instinctively, heat rushing to her face. Thoughts of the past few nights in which Jimin had visited her to help 'put her at ease' invaded her mind, begging her to shut down Hoseok's fears. His eyes widened as he picked up on the motion.
