We have been apart so long
The world and I,
That my soul no longer keeps in time
With the Universe's song,
A decrepit heart,
Already caked with that crust given by age
Shrivels a little smaller,
retreats a little into the corner.
Arms crossed,
Knees bent,
Head down.
