Loneliness

We have been apart so long

The world and I,

That my soul no longer keeps in time

With the Universe's song,

A decrepit heart,

Already caked with that crust given by age

Shrivels a little smaller,

retreats a little into the corner.

Arms crossed,

Knees bent,

Head down.
