Lo
I was feeling sick to my stomach, as I stood in front of the full-length mirror, checking myself out in the red, curvaceous dress I was wearing. I had decided to take Kash's advice and see if I could get Vic to confess, but I had to play my cards right, otherwise, Vic will see right through my phony façade.
"You can do this, Lo. You can do this. Just pretend that Vic isn't some type of crazy ass man, that could possibly kill you if you provoke him the wrong way." I said, to the reflection in the mirror. It was clear that I was going to need some liquid courage before taking my ass next door. I headed downstairs, going straight to the liquor cabinet, pouring myself a shot of Hennessy; throwing it straight back before pouring me another shot. I wasn't trying to get too drunk, probably because it'll blow my cover, and I'd possibly sleep with him again, so I had to make sure that I was alert. I headed over to my phone, picking it up, and sending Vic a quick text.
Me: Hey, you busy? Can I come over?
Vic: Of course. I'll unlock the door for you.
Me: Great! See you in a minute.
I took one last shot, taking a few deep breaths, before grabbing my phone and keys and heading out of the house. I wandered next door, trying to calm myself down, before making sure I had the record app on as I walked into the house.
"Vic?" I called out. I walked into the living room, seeing Vance sprawled out on the couch, as he quickly sat up and glared at me.
"What the hell are you doing here? Didn't I tell you to stop talking to him?" He whispered. Before I could answer, Vic walked out of the kitchen, giving me a kiss on the cheek. "Who the hell is this?"
"This is Lo. The girl I've told you about." Vic smiled, wrapping his arm around me. I smiled a little, nervously looking at Vance, as he shook his head. "Baby, this is my brother, Vance."
"Nice to meet you."
"You too. Aye, is you done cooking? I'm hungry as hell!" Vance said.
"The food is almost done, nigga, damn! Be patient!" Vic grabbed my hand and led the way into the kitchen, lifting me up and sitting me down on the kitchen counter. "I haven't heard from you in awhile. I've missed you." He said, placing a kiss on my neck.
"Yeah, I know. I, um... I've been dealing with a lot of stuff lately. Between Bella's funeral, Kash getting arrested, and me coming down with something... I've just been a little overwhelmed." I lied, hoping that I sounded convincing. He stared at me, I guess trying to read me to see if I was lying or not, but he didn't say anything.
"Why didn't you call me? I could've gone to Bella's funeral with you, babe. And I saw Kash get arrested, but I didn't want to be that nosy neighbor that bombards you with a million questions about what happened. I just figured that you'd call me whenever you were ready." He brought his hand up to my face and gently caressed my cheek. For one, why the hell would I invite you to your own victim's funeral? That didn't make any sense! And for two, you probably know exactly why Kash got arrested, so STOP acting like you don't know anything! I thought to myself. I just wanted to explode and snap off on him right then and there, but I had to keep my composure.
