Lo
Two years later...
"So, Lo, this is our last session today. How are you feeling?" My therapist asked me, as she looked up from her notepad. I had been going to therapy for the last two years, and I can honestly say that it has helped me tremendously. After everything that happened, I could barely sleep without having dreams of Vic coming after me, finishing what he started the night he murdered my unborn baby. After a week of waking up, screaming and in a cold sweat, Kash and I made the decision to move back to Atlanta, and start over. We stayed with my parents, much to both my mom and Kash's dismay, avoiding telling them the truth about what really happened between us.
It took us a minute to get settled, but after a month, we had finally gotten ourselves jobs, saving up to get us a new place. Kash got a job working as a schedule supervisor at a call center, while I got a part time job working at a women's clinic, while going back to school to get my nursing degree. Soon enough, we were home owners once again, and everything seemed to just fall into place after that. Kash and I were taking things slow, rebuilding our relationship, and trying our best to move forward without fear that Vic would somehow get out and come look for us.
"I'm feeling really good, actually." I smiled. "I'm not the same hot mess that strolled in here on the first day, and I have you to thank for that. You really helped me through a tough time, and I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am for that."
"I can't take all the credit, Lo. Everything that has happened is because you made it happen. Now, tell me... How are things between you and Kash?" My smile widened as I felt the butterflies in my stomach, just like I did when I had first laid eyes on him. "Hmmm, judging by that smile, things have been going really well between you two."
"That is most definitely an understatement. Things between Kash and I have been beyond perfect, and I didn't even think it was possible to re-fall in love with someone you've been with for almost nine years." I hadn't smiled this hard in so long, and it felt really good to be back to my old self, and it also felt good to finally be back on track with the love of my life.
"So, you've forgiven him for everything that has happened in the past, and vice versa?" She questioned.
"Oh, absolutely! We took your advice, and we sat down and discussed everything, putting it all out on the table, and it went better than I ever would've expected." I told her.
"Well that's great to hear! So, what's next for you two then?" I grinned, holding out my hand, showing her my engagement ring. Though it was the exact same one from the first proposal, it was still a stunning ring, nonetheless, and I couldn't wait to become Mrs. Kashton Taylor. Her eyes lit up as she started smiling, leaning in, as she gently grabbed my hand and admired the beautiful ring. "Oh my... Congratulations! This is exciting news!"
"Thank you! I didn't expect for him to pop the question again, but he said that he wanted a do-over in every possible aspect."
"So how did he pop the question? Was it better than the first time he proposed?" She asked me.
