"You know what? I'm never going to fit in and that's alright". Erin grumbled putting the bottle to her lips and taking a long swig of the alcohol. She had just came back from telling Bunny about you. You could say Bunny didnt like her daughter being a lesbian.
"You fit in with me. I like you". You chuckled as her eyes light up from your smile.
"You're the only one and the only one that matters to me". Erin clumsily stumbled over to you on the couch. She hit her shin on the corner of the coffee table and fell on the couch.
"Ow". She laughed hysterically holding her leg. You knew she would feel that in the morning.
"Are you okay"? You asked with a laughed. Laying her down, Erin's head in your lap.
"I'm fine. I just dont understand why she wouldn't except me as me"? The laughter turned to a sniffle. Erin hated crying in front of you.
"Some people are afraid of others that some people call "different" when in reality they're normal. You like girls, so what. A lot of people do. Bunny may or may not come around to the idea but you have me and the others that accept you as who you are". You gently run your hand through her hair.
"How did I get so lucky and have someone so understanding". Erin snuggled into your chest, wrapping her arm around your waist.
"Perfect timing". You giggled as she nudged your leg.
"I love you Erin Lindsay so much". You kissed the top of her head.
"I love you too". She mumbled into your sweat shirt. The soft sleepiness in her voice made your heart melt. She deserves the world and you were going to give it to her.
After awhile Erin was completely knocked out and asleep on the couch. You covered her up and went to her home office. She had her contacts there so you got Bunny's number and called her.
"Hello"?
"Bunny? This is Y/N, Erin's girlfriend. I know you dont know me but I just want you to know that I love your daughter and I would do anything for her. I can't understand why she would want your approval after everything you've done to her. But she does. So I promise to treat her right and make her laugh and feel safe".
"Is she happy"? Bunny asked sincerely.
"She is. When I met her she was really down. Drinking herself to sleep and drinking to get through the day but after we got together she quit drinking and she was laughing more. She was excited for the next day. We moved in together and she couldn't stop telling people and smiling. She's really happy. Until tonight. She took her first sip of hard alcohol in 2 years".
"I'm sorry".
"Dont be sorry. Talk to her. She wants you back in her life and to except her as her. Not this fake Erin that she has to put on for you".
"I cant promise anything, Y/N. It's going to take time to process my daughter is gay. She was so popular with the boys".
You laughed on the phone. "I know. But if you loved her you would love her no matter what. No matter who's shes with or who she loves. It's not your decision to make. It's hers. Stop being selfish".
"Okay. I'll think about it". Bunny said making you roll your eyes at her stupidiness.
"Whatever Bunny. You do what you got to do". You slammed your cellphone on the desk with frustration. You couldnt get over how heartless she could be. Maybe it was a good thing she was out of Erin's life. You see why Hank didnt like her.
The anger in you wanted to explode on Bunny but you knew if you did, Erin would be mad so you went to bed. You grabbed a pillow and a blanket. Made you a bed on the floor beside Erin on the couch. Her hand was hanging of the edge and you held on it until you went to sleep.
The smell of coffee filled your nose. Looking up you saw Erin bending over you with a cup.
"Morning sunshine". She smiled and sat the cup on the table.
"Morning babykins". You sent her a wink, groaning as you got up off the floor.
"Why did you sleep on the floor"?
"I didn't want to sleep in the bed by myself. It would be too lonely without you".
"You could have carried me to bed".
"Your drunk ass was sleeping on the couch for getting drunk".
"I'm sorry. I shouldnt let her get to me like that".
"You shouldnt. But I get it. Shes your mom".
"Yeah". Erin sighed and went to go back into the kitchen but there was a knock at the door.
"It's Bunny". Erin looked through the peep hole on her tippy toes.
"Wonder what shes doing here so early"? You asked, taking a sip of your coffee. Hoping that she was here to accept Erin as herself.
Erin opened the door slowly. "What are you doing here"?
"Can we talk"?
"Sure. Come in". Erin stepped aside and let Bunny in. Erin was shocked that she came, she giggled and jumped up and down behind Bunny. She was excited. Bunny walked past you with a smile and mouthed Thank you before going to the kitchen with Erin.
You let out a sigh of relief and waited for their conversation to be over. This was good for Erin. She needed this and she got it. Now she and you could be happy without distracts.
