The Introduction

Erin squeezed your trembling hand as the two of you walked up the stairs to her bosses house. It was Christmas eve and this was your first time meeting everyone in her unit.

"Don't be nervous, they'll love you". Erin wrapped her arm around yours, still holding your hand.

"I'm fine. Just a wee bit nervous seeing your ex".

"Jay, wont start anything. We're friends. Plus he'll be glad to see that I'm with someone that makes me happy like you do". She leaned in and kissed your cheek. Making your cheeks brighter red then they already were from the cold.

"Alright, let's do this". You chuckled, ringing the doorbell.

"Now I'm the nervous one". Erin hugged your arm tighter. You squeezed her hand as the door opened and a older gentleman greeted you.

"This is Sergeant Hank Voight. Hank, this is Y/N". Erin introduced you to her boss.

"Nice to finally meet you, Erin's told me a little about you". Hank said with a smile.

"I told you because you were trying to set me up with some guy I didn't know from the S.W.A.T team". Erin giggled as she helped with your coat.

"We'll I've heard tons about you, Mr. Voight".

"Call me Hank and I hope it wasn't all bad". Hank winked at Erin.

"It was all good, I promise. She really looks up to you and respects you. You've done an amazing job. Erin's a really good person and it's all because of you". You wrapped your arm around her waist. A blush crept on her cheeks.

"So I'm guessing you haven't met Bunny"? Hank questioned.

"No and she's not". Erin stepped in before you could answer.

"Good. Let's go into the kitchen. Dinners almost ready".

As you followed Hank into the kitchen you looked at the pictures on the wall. Erin was in quite a few with a younger guy and Hank.

"That's Justin. Hank's son. He died". Erin stopped walking.

"I'm sorry, babe". You laid your head on hers.

"Erin"! You heard a guys voice from behind.  You turned around to see.

"Loud mouth". She chuckled going to hug him.

"Adam, this is Y/N. My girlfriend".

"Hi". You spoke quietly.

"Woah. You brought a girl home to papa Hank? How did he take it"?

"Well. So you cool with this"? Erin asked Adam.

"Yeah. If she makes you happy then shes cool with me". Adam hugged Erin again and headed to the kitchen.

"He's so going to run a background check on you so be aware". Erin wrapped her arms around your waist from behind.

"I'm clean. My college records are cleared". You giggled as Erin tilted her head and blinked her eyes at you.

You let out a laugh. "Oh Miss Lindsay, you dont know that side of me and you never will".

"Oh I so want to see this". She laughed walking with you into the kitchen. There was Hank and Adam with a few other people you havent met.

"Hey guys, this is Y/N, my girlfriend". Erin gleamed with joy as she introduced you.

"This is Kevin, Kim, Alvin and Jay. Antonio couldn't be with us since he had his kids for Christmas but you'll meet him soon".

"Hello. Nice to meet all of you. Thank you for having me".

"So how did you and Erin meet"? Kim asked as she sipped her wine.

"Well, she was actually tackling a suspect and I got in the way". Erin snickered behind you.

"She didn't get in the way. The suspect threw her to the ground and I made sure she was okay then I tackled and tazed the suspect".

"That's a story to tell the kids". Alvin said from the kitchen table.

"Yeah, maybe". You looked at Erin as she chewed on her lip.

"Everyone ready to eat"? Hank asked as he took out the turkey.

"We're starving, Hank". Alvin came over to help him.

"I'm going to wash up, I'll be right back". Erin kissed your cheek as she ran off to the bathroom.

"Sit anywhere you want". Hank told you.

"Sit by me. We need to talk". Adam patted the seat beside him.

"Oh dear. Here comes the lesbian questions. No life isn't one big sleep over orgy". You said, everyone busted out laughing.

"I like you, you can joke around". Adam chuckled.

"Good. I like you too". You.said taking the seat beside him.

While you and the other laughed and joked around. Jay waited by the bathroom door for Erin.

"Jay, what are you doing"? Erin asked as she came out.

"So Y/N"?

"Yeah, what about her"?

"She seems nice. Thinks the world about you".

"I'm happy, Jay. She makes me feel normal. I dont have to put on a show when I'm with her".

"I know. I'm glad you've found someone. You deserve it after everything".

"Thanks, Jay. She's really sweet and has a great sense of humor. Makes me laugh nonstop".

"Yeah, I've heard. She's in there telling jokes with Adam". Jay chuckled as him and Erin came to the kitchen door way.

Erin smiled as she saw you laughing and having a good time with her family. She wanted you to get along with them because she loved both of you.

"I think she'll fit in just fine with this family". Jay whispered.

"Me too". Erin grinned as you saw her and waved her over.

This Christmas was the best in Erin's life. She had her family and the girl she loved. Nothing could make this Christmas better.
