Requests Open <3Last part
Sorry it's been a minute, had writers block & second semester started 😭 but I'm actually quite fond of this chapter, at least compared to the previous ones that I rushed.

One morning, only two days after departing the Unclean Realm and establishing a new outpost, the small forces from Qinghe were met with the military might of Qishan Wen's empire. Despite the odds blessing the Wen blades, Qishan's men valiantly retaliated, and as day bled into night, the only corpses seen marring the landscape wore robes of the Sun. Proper burials were given to them all, but under mounds of no respect; it was a preventative measure. Without such, they might rise again as fierce corpses.
Many cultivators were injured.
Lan WangJi knew Wei WuXian was one of them.
The Lan held Wei WuXian's limp in his watchful gaze as he followed behind him. It was late—most had returned to their tents. Now, with nobody around, Lan WangJi was given an opportunity. The other had insisted the ambush left him unscathed, but each step of his looked unbearably pained. He would point his toes, testing every footfall before riding it up his leg. His hip and knee locked in stride. But then, as if nothing was wrong, his good leg would take the lead again.
Lan WangJi jogged to catch the back of his elbow.
"Wei Ying, you're hurt."
He didn't turn, but spoke anyways as if he'd been expecting him, "HanGuang-Jun, haven't I already told you otherwise?"
"Mn. I apologize, but I have reason not to believe you."
From the sound of his voice, Lan WangJi was calm and reserved, even his face would tell you that; but his truth lay within heartbeats, and his heartbeats told of great worry. If only he could press that freckled ear to his chest so Wei WuXian could hear it too.
Instead, he was still under the impression that The Jade only payed him any attention to encourage Suibian back into his fist.
Wei WuXian slowly turned his head—just his head. His nose was crinkled between his lashes, but there was a softness in his eyes he didn't seem to know was there, else he would have tamed it.
"Lan Zhan, you're something else," he tsked. "Then, I suppose you're right, but it's only a nick, I—hey, hey, hey! Where are you dragging me?"
While his mouth ran on and on in opposition, he followed obediently all the way across the field, into a private infirmity, and even right onto the bed inside!
Having been pushed roughly into the mattress, he had to prop himself up on his elbows to see where his legs dangled over the edge. Wei WuXian's white face was kissed red by a bouquet of roses at the sight—Lan WangJi was on his knees on the ground! The image was enough to set Wei WuXian's erotic, teenage brain ablaze with thoughts of... of—
He shot up. His spine went erect and he fisted the satin sheets beneath him.
"Han-HanGuang-Jun, what are you-"
"May I?"
Truthfully, Lan WangJi had kneeled without meaning to, even held Wei WuXian's injured leg in his palms without meaning to, but he would not let himself move any further lest he disrespect Wei WuXian's boundaries.
