"How'd it go, Dad?" Haruhi asked when Ranka entered through the front door

"How'd it go, Dad?" Haruhi asked when Ranka entered through the front door. Takashi sat beside me on the couch with his arm wrapped around my shoulders. I didn't want to leave my bed, but Mori convinced me without even asking me to.

"Ugh, it was a complete waste of time. All they said was that they'd look into it," Ranka complained as he slipped off his shoes. "Those good for nothing-"

"Um, Takashi said that he can pick me up for school," I spoke up to stop whatever insult he was beginning to say. "That way, I won't have to walk, and I won't accidentally run into him or something."

"Oh, that's so sweet of you, Dear. I know I liked you for a reason," Ranka said and smiled at Takashi. I turned my head towards him and grinned. Mori met my eyes and squeezed my shoulder once.

"The other hosts were asking a lot of questions about you, Touma. They got really worried when I told them you were sick," Haruhi said and sat down on the other side of the couch.

"Yeah, I thought they might," I answered and turned back to face her and said, "I know that they can overreact sometimes."

"Are you going to tell them about... what's going on?" Haruhi spoke hesitantly. I sighed and thought for a moment. If I did tell them, I'd only tell them the bare minimum. I don't want to give them actual details.

"I'd rather not," I finally answered with a shrug. "I have a feeling Kyoya already knows about him though. He can look at my records after all. He definitely knows about what happened, but he probably doesn't know the specific details."

"I don't either," Mori replied with a shrug. I hummed softly and thought for a second.

"I... I'll probably tell you one day," I replied slowly. It was the truth. I could see myself opening up to him sometime in the future, but probably not right now.

"Don't have to," Mori mumbled. He cupped the side of my face and lifted my head, so our eyes met again. Takashi leaned his forehead on mine. I placed my hand on his chest, coincidently right over his heart. I barely brushed my lips over his and felt his heartbeat quicken under my palm.

I let out a short breathy laugh before pressing my lips to his for a real kiss. It only lasted for a second though. Haruhi is still in the room, but her attention was drawn to the TV... mostly.

I could hear Haruhi giggle from the other side of the couch, but I chose not to acknowledge her. Instead, I tucked my head under Mori's and curled into him. My hand stayed on his chest though. His heartbeat slowed somewhat, but not completely. I wanted to test something real quick, so I kept my hand over his heart.

"I love you, Takashi," I spoke loud enough after a couple of seconds later, so he would be the only one to hear me. Once again, his heartbeat quickened. I let out a small laugh and explained, "Your heartbeat gets quicker when we kiss and when I said that."
