"What's with all the alligators?" Haruhi lightly panted as she spoke.
"Is it even legal for alligators to be running around the resort? I mean, I understand the birds, but alligators?" I said with an exasperated tone.
"Those animals belong to the resort's tropical animal exhibit. I guess it is kind of dangerous to let them run wild," Kyoya explained.
"You think?" I mumbled softly. I don't get why he's writing all of this down though.
"Although it's the current's pool switch in the direction that's the problem here. I'll have to have a chat with the designers," Kyoya continued and ignored me completely. He snapped his book shut and turned back towards us. "Thanks a lot, you guys. I got some great data today."
"You what?" The twins, Tamaki, and Haruhi exclaimed in unison. I knew there was a reason why we were invited here for free. It was too good to be true.
"Shouldn't we try to find Honey-senpai? Do you have a map of this place, Kyoya?" Knowing the hosts, they would've gotten distracted instead of looking for Honey.
Part of me knew Honey-senpai would be okay. After all, he's a strong kid. Another part of me wanted to find Honey-senpai as soon as we could because I knew Mori-senpai is worried.
We all walked over to a map that was posted up on the wall. Kyoya pointed to different locations on the map and explained where we were and where we needed to go.
"There's a lot of undeveloped areas that we need to get through. Any idea what might be there?" Haruhi asked and looked up towards Kyoya.
"No, not since they're still underdeveloped," Kyoya denied.
"That means the things in there could be even more dangerous," One twin said. Both brothers looked at each other. It was obvious they were worried, probably about their own safety, because of their voice and facial expressions.
Soon, the seven of us were walking through what looked to be a real jungle. I know it was just a resort, but it was pretty convincing. Tamaki and I must've been thinking the same thing because he said, "Wow, this place is just like a real jungle."
"Yeah. The different animal calls make it feel more real," I agreed. I couldn't identify all of the calls, but they definitely sounded real.
"You don't think that those animal sounds could belong to the real things, do you?" Hikaru and Kaoru asked in unison.
"To be honest, I'm not sure," Kyoya paused. "But I do know that my family strives for authenticity at whatever the cost." I let out a slight groan and slowed down a bit, so I was walking at the back of the group. Mori-senpai was staring straight ahead of him with a blank face.
I know he wasn't showing it, but I could tell he was concerned. It was sort of a gut feeling that was telling me he wasn't as calm inside as he was outside. When Mori slipped on the second banana peel today, that only confirmed my suspicions.
