"How can we help."

~~~~~~
"You don't need to," I replied with a complacent smile. "But I would like to catch up."
"Great, Luke, more coffee!" Mom called.
Luke was petting Snow, who seemed to take have taken a liking to him.
"I'll get it." Jess got up. I knew he was uncomfortable.
"So, where did you go?" Rory asked.
"Well, we found a nice field that you could camp in for free and just sort of stayed there. How
was Europe?"
"Good." Rory took a sip of coffee.
Mom's phone went off.
"Hello?" Mom asked. After a second, the blood drains from her face as I faintly heard my
Grandmother saying that she was here.
"I am so sorry; she just heard that we were back, and we can hide you if you want?" Mom said, a
little scared.
"No, it's time to bury the hatchet. I took a long gulp of coffee before confidently turning around
frizzy red hair fly into my face.
"Ginger....." Grandma said, staring bewildered into my eyes. She glanced up to Jess with a look
of detest. Finally, her eyes fell onto Luke and Snow, shock filling her hot head. "Why is a dog in a
restraint?"
"Snow didn't want to stay in the car." Jess and Luke said in unison.
Grandma rolled her eyes and wiped down a seat before sitting down.
"So Ginger, how is it being the disappointment of the family?" Grandma asked.
"MOM?!?!" Mom yelled.
"What? That's what she is, a failure and a disappointment. Ginger, you could have done so much
 with your life, and you chose to play your guitar and mess around with this disgrace of a
human." She sent an evil glare at Jess.
"Get. Out." Luke growled, marching towards Grandma.
"What?"
"I said GET OUT. You will not say anything unkind about my nephew or my daughter. Get out!"
Grandma promptly left, muttering under her breath.
"Well, that went well," I said.
"Are you okay, Fire?" Jess asked, coming over to comfort me.
" I'm fine. It was stupid of me to think that we would ever be on good terms," I replied.
" No, it was stupid of her not to love you." He kissed my forehead, receiving a smile from me.
~~~~~~

We all sat there drinking coffee, exchanging stories. Luke even joined in. Finally, I was happy; I was loved.

                                                                                      I was Home.
