Chapter 14 : RACING

After our talk earlier, we went to the restaurant and had dinner. Kara went back to her usual self ; kire, maingay, salaw. I love this side of her more, though. I love how imperfect she is.

We ate and laughed at our stories that we shared. I missed her so much. And I could tell that she missed me, too.

As we walked out from the restaurant. She held my hand and pulled me to the shore. She let go when she reached her spot. She sat down on the sand. She patted the spot next to hers, gesturing me to sit down.

I sat down beside her and looked up. The dark sky was filled with stars, shining brightly. The night sky looked so beautiful. The moon was full. It shined the brightest.

I glanced at Kara and saw her looking at the night sky, too. 

"What's our plan, Caleb?" she asked, her eyes never leaving the night sky.

"What plan?"

"You're leaving me in less than a month, right?" She glanced at me. "What's your plan about our relationship?"

Oh. That. I haven't thought about that part, honestly. I just know that I won't let go of her, no matter what happens.

"I don't know. But, I guess... we'll just go with the flow."

"A-Alright. It's hard to plan this early. I'm sorry, I asked about that. Never mind it." She shook her head.

"Hey, it's okay. As for now, maybe we should spend more time together. I'll spend the rest of my remaining days here with you. Is that okay?" I asked softly.

"Of course!" She immediately replied. "We should spend more time together. We should date everyday!"

I chuckled.

"Yeah, we'll date everyday. If that's what you want." I kissed her temple.

We head back to our cabin, the one we originally had. She let me stay back in our cabin and sleep with her.

"Good night, love," I whispered and enveloped my arms around her waist, before finally dozzing off.

We spent our last day in that private beach without arguing. Well, maybe a little. Kara's very stubborn. My hair will all turn white in no time.

When we went home, she calls me every now and then. She became more clingy. I don't mind, though. I'm so bored in our house, I can't wait for our next date. Kara keeps me sane and insane at the same time. Crazy, right? Like her.

"Where are you?" She said as she answered my phone call.

"Still getting ready, love."

"Ugh! Sino ba ang babae? Ako 'di ba? Bakit ikaw ang matagal mag-ayos?!" Uh oh. The dragon starts to come out from her. She sounded so mad.

"I'm sorry, love. I overslept. I played video games last night. Don't worry, will be there in ten minutes," I said and hang up.

Lagot ako lalo dahil ayaw niya na pinagbababaan siya ng tawag pero ayaw ko nang marinig ang galit niya sakin. Nakakatakot, e. Susuyuin ko na lang siya mamaya, kapag nag-kita na kami.

I wore casual clothes today. Jeans, white polo shirt, and white sneakers. I also wore a cap. We're going to try to race today.

Kara suggested it. She said she wanted to try racing.

No'ng una, hindi ako pumayag. Masyadong delikado. Pero dahil mapilit siya, at ayaw ko naman siyang pagbawalan sa mga bagay na gusto niyang gawin, pumayag na rin ako. Tutal ay kasama naman niya ako. Magkalaban nga lang kami. But I'm going to be easy on her, para hindi siya mapahamak. I'll let her win over me.

Kara is an adventurous woman. She wants to try different things. She doesn't like staying in her comfort zone. Like what I said before, ibang-iba siya. Kaya mahal na mahal ko siya. She's unique and rare.

"Hey, love." I went to her and kissed her. She kissed back, so I thought she's not mad at me anymore. But as soon as I let her go, she snapped.

Sinundo ko siya sa bahay nila. Nasa tapat kami ng gate nila ngayon.

"You always made me wait for you!" She hit my arm.

I held my arm and caressed it. I looked at her and she looked back at me, too. Nanghahamon ang tingin.

"I told you, I overslept."

"Hah! Kaya pala hindi ka na nag-reply sa chat ko! You're too busy with your video games!"

"I didn't notice the time." I shrugged.

"You know we have a date, you should have slept earlier---" I kissed her so she stopped blabbering. I pushed my tounge inside her mouth and flicked it. I sucked on her lower lip before letting her go.

Ayan. Tahimik.

Kinuha ko ang dala niyang bag mula sa kaniya at pinagbuksan siya sa pintuan ng shot gun seat.

Tulala lang siya habang nakatayo. Nakatingin sa kawalan. Kinaliangan ko pa siyang lapitan ulit at pitikin nang mahina ang noo niya para bumalik siya sa huwisyo.

"Ow!" Reklamo niya. Luh. Arte. Hina hina no'n.

"You asshole! That's my first time doing that!" She pushed me, she looked so angry I just laughed.

"Doing what? I'm the one who kissed you so basically, you did nothing." I shrugged and went inside the driver's seat.

"Fuck you, asshole," she cursed and went inside the shot gun seat. I just bit my lip and smiled.

So that's the way to shut you up, huh?

I drove our way to the race track. Habang nasa biyahe, nagpapatugtog lang si Kara. I let her take over my bluetooth so she's the one deciding on the music.

Habang nagpapatugtog, sumasabay siya sa kanta. I must say that her voice is good. It's soothing. Her singing voice is way different from her talking voice.

I noticed that she likes the songs of this British artist. She made a playlist solely for that singer. I can't help myself but asked.

"You like Ed Sheeran?"

"Yes. His songs are way too good."

"Yeah, I like him too." I said honestly.

"Who wouldn't like him, right? The man's talented. He does not have the looks but because of his real talent and great voice, he made his way to the top. Artists like him are rare these days."

True. I nodded and focused on the road.

We reached the race track and get ourselves inside. The car that we're going to use are both her father's. She made her drivers drove the car so they went here beforehand.

She said that her father liked racing, so she watched him race before, but she really never tried it, until now.

"Don't take it easy on me," she said and put her helmet on.

"You wish." I lied.

I'm gonna be easy on you, love. Forgive me.

"Good luck!" She hugged me. I pulled her waist to hug her tighter.

"Good luck." I smiled.

The race started and like I said, I went easy on her, so she won over me. She ranked third and I ranked fourth.

I smiled at her as I went out of her father's car.

I opened my arms for an embrace when she ran towards me. I was anticipating for an embrace but then, she's Kara. So of course, she had to hit  my arm first.

Damn.

"You asshole! I told you to never go easy on me!" She sounded annoyed.

"E 'di natalo ka." Umirap ako.

"Even so! Nakakainis ka naman, e!" She pouted cutely so I leaned and kissed her lips quickly.

There. The dragon's tamed.

"I won't ever make you feel that you lost because of me. Basta't akin ka, lagi kang panalo, Kara."
