Miles Parker. Transfer student. The new "new kid". I guess that no longer makes me the new kid now.

But why was he trying so hard to befriend me? He's just wasting his time.

I don't have time for friends here.

MILES: So
Y/N: So?
MILES: What's your project about?
Y/N: None of your business
MILES: Okay... someone woke up on the wrong side of bed this morning
Y/N: Can you please leave now?
MILES: Oh come on, don't be like that
Y/N: I'm sorry I know I seem rude right now, but I need to get my work done so my partner doesn't get his perfect reputation messed up because of me
MILES: Fine, fine. I understand
Y/N: Thanks now give my back my book
MILES: This book?

He help up the purple book with the black pages. The really old one I found in the back shelves.

Y/N: Yes that one.
MILES: Theres not much to this book, just a bunch of random spells. I looked through it.
Y/N: I don't care, I wanna check it out. After I'm done here I'm gonna read that back in my dorm
MILES: Go ahead, it's boring anyway.
Y/N: I didn't ask for your opinion
MILES: You didn't have to

He flashed an arrogant smile my way. I rolled my eyes.

MILES: By the way, you seem like a real nerd.. it's weirding me out
Y/N: And your point is?
MILES: Nothing... just saying you should loosen up or else it's gonna be hard making friends at this school.
Y/N: I don't need friends here.
MILES: Fair. But one day you're gonna regret not having more fun in school. Enjoy it while it lasts, trust me.
Y/N: I just met you. How can I trust you?
MILES: You're a funny girl
Y/N: No I'm just a girl. Now leave before I throw one of the big books at you
MILES: How do you think everyone's gonna view you? Don't you care about what others think? You don't want to be misunderstood by everyone do you? They're gonna label you as the biggest buzz kill of the school with the way you act.

He doesn't know what he's talking about. But I let his words get to me. He was right. I do care what others think of me. Because of the way I act, I managed to be frenemies with Cedric Diggory on my first day here.

Y/N: You know what, I'll just finish this project later, it's kinda hard to focus right now.
MILES: Ouch.
Y/N: You're not exactly quiet
MILES: You know what you need? Something that'll get your blood rushing. I'm thinking we ditch this Library and sneak into the Hufflepuff common room.
Y/N: Alright
MILES: Wait what? Seriously? I was half joking but you really wanna go?
Y/N: Sure. I mean I'm not a buzz kill, so ya. I'll go
MILES: Sweet let's go!
Y/N: What exactly are we gonna do there?
MILES: I have a Hufflepuff friend thats pretty close with me. He told me this morning that there was gonna be a gathering for the Hufflepuff's in their common room.
Y/N: So basically a small house party for just Hufflepuffs?
MILES: Ya, something like that
Y/N: Wow those guys win one game of quidditch and suddenly everyday is a party for them
MILES: Haha, ya. It'll be fun though
Y/N: But wouldn't it be rude? I mean I'm a Slytherin and you're a Ravenclaw, I doubt they'd want us there

MILES: My friend wants me there
Y/N: Who's your friend?
MILES: Cedric Diggory

You've got to be kidding me.
——————————————————————————
We made our way out of the Library and to the Hufflepuff common room.

Y/N: I swear I'll hex you if they kick us out
MILES: Cmon, they won't kick us out. They're Hufflepuff's!
Y/N: Well I guess that's a fair point.

The Hufflepuff room was so much brighter than the Slytherin one. It was beautifully decorated in gold and black curtains and the Hufflepuff crest shining in the center.

MILES: Hey guys!

HUFFLEPUFF STUDENT #1: Who are you?

MILES: We're Cedric's friends! He told us to come

No he told YOU to come.

HUFFLEPUFF STUDENT #2: Oh okay! Come on in, we trust Cedric

Y/N: Well that was easy
MILES: Told you

MILES: So where is he?

HUFFLEPUFF STUDENT #1: The quidditch game just finished, they should be here soon

MILES: Cool. We'll just hang out here and check this place out then.

Just then the lights were dimmed. A yellow light from a disco ball was shining through. I guess It's time to celebrate. No doubt Hufflepuff won today's game too, thanks to Cedric

MILES: Sick! They have butter beer stocked up here. Want some?
Y/N: Maybe later, I wanna look around
MILES: Alright, come back soon

I made my way up the steps that led to the dorms, the doors were all a light shade of every wood from Oak to Birch and even Maple.

I stopped at what looked to be the most well kept room. The door was slightly open. You could see light peeking out. All the other doors were closed

I walked in slowly and found a bed, a table and a huge book shelf. Every book I've ever wanted to read was right here in these shelves. I notice a book on the night stand by the bed.

This person must've been reading this last night. There was a black bookmark in it. I wonder if they'll notice if i take it out. Of course I'd never do that to someone, but it could be fun to mess with them.

I notice a tall mirror on my left. I admire the way my hair falls on my dark robe and how the green accents bring out my eyes.

Suddenly the door creaks open, I can see a shadow approaching

I don't turn to look at them, I'm too embarrassed to be seen lurking in someone else's room.

The shadow is now behind me. I can see their body beside mine in the mirror but I don't look up to meet their eyes. I'm already humiliated.

CEDRIC: What are you doing in my room?
