This is just a reminder to let you know that I took some artistic license writing this story because of the added characters and shift in plot. This story is supposed to resemble the original series of course, however it is more focused on Cedric (leaving out his relationship with Cho and the Tri-Wizard tournament. There will however still be a yule ball and many of the original characters present in this story including Cho). A lot of the scenes will give Cedric bigger roles such as being on the quidditch team and more. So when reading this story, please keep an open mind, understand that changes were made to fit this specific plot, and don't be too alarmed when something doesn't align with the original books/ movies. I needed a minute to process whatever just came out of Cedric's mouth.

"Show you who you're messing with"

Was he trying to become my enemy? What does that even mean?

Y/N: What do you mean?
CEDRIC: Oh nothing, just that maybe you should watch your back too
Y/N: Okay, so this is how we're gonna play?
CEDRIC: I guess so, I mean you're basically asking for it at this point
Y/N: I don't think I am but i'll take it. I'm sure it'll feel good saying to everyone that I'm the one who can make Cedric Diggory quiver in fear
CEDRIC: Excuse me? Who said I feared you?
Y/N: Isn't that what you were implying? Sorry I just assumed since you know.. apparently you're even worried i'll poison your drink
CEDRIC: Well you just might, I never know what you Slytherins are up to these days
Y/N: Good. Let me stay a mystery

With that I turned my back and walked off. I tried not to show any emotion to make sure i didn't let him think he got to me

CEDRIC'S POV

She walked away yet I couldn't help but smirk a little. She's a fun little thing now, I wonder how this will play out..

I make my way over to Ron and Harry across the room by the punch table

CEDRIC: What's in your hand Harry?
HARRY: A note.. from Ginny
RON: What?!!? Let me see that

Ron tried to grab the paper out of Harry's hands but failed

HARRY: It's none of your business, Ron.
RON: Is too. That's my sister, I should know what she's writing
HARRY: But she gave me the note so no you shouldn't, and she specifically wrote "DO NOT OPEN, property of Harry Potter"
RON: Ugh girls
CEDRIC: Tell me about it
HARRY: Huh? Are you having girl problems, Cedric?
RON: No, how could he? Cedric could get any girl he wants around here

I snickered at Ron's flattering comment

CEDRIC: Actually I wouldn't call it a problem.. more like confusion
HARRY: Well, let's here it
CEDRIC: I don't know.. it's not really that important
RON: Nonsense, come mate spit it out. You know I'm great at love advise
HARRY: ....
CEDRIC: ...
RON: What? I am!!
CEDRIC: Anyway, that new Slytherin, Y/N. What's her deal?
HARRY: What do you mean, she's a lovely girl from what I've seen?
RON: Ya, a brilliant sort if you ask me. She offered to help me study for my transfigurations quiz tomorrow
CEDRIC: Well that's how they are you know. All sweet and kind at first. But once they see that you trust them they bite you when you're most vulnerable
RON: Are you talking about girls?
HARRY: or Slytherins?
CEDRIC: ... Well both I guess? What I'm saying is I know their kind. I've dealt with them before
RON: Oh come on, I'm sure you're exaggerating. They're not that bad.
