chapter 7: a temporary betrayal part 1

Two days after the failed expedition. Josh notices something going on amongst the scouts as they were busy running around like a lot of headless cocks then he saw Elita, Haruno and Sarah following the scout commander.

Josh: hey guys.

Elita: hi Josh. We were just looking for you.

Josh: what for?

Haruno: they've found the identity of the female titan.

Josh stood there in shock

Elita: uh are you ok? (Waves her hand in front of him) hello?

Haruno: oh great (!) I've broken him.

Elita: do you remember what his favourite food was?

Haruno: think so.

As he brings out a block of cheese out as Armin, Mikasa and Jean were passing them

Armin: what's wrong with Josh? And what's with the block of cheese?

Elita explains why Josh was out and Haruno chimed in with hopes of getting Josh back to normal. As Haruno slowly sliced a piece of cheese off with a cheese knife Josh suddenly grabbed the block from him eating it like a happy mouse making the other caught by surprise. The six joined the commander, the Prime, Eren and Levi. As they were discussing of a way to capture their target, Josh spoke up.

Josh: how about we talk to her instead?

Erwin: (calmed) we don't have time to talk with her.

Josh: (annoyed) you lot aren't making any sense.

Levi: Josh, settle down

Josh: (Angrily) I'm sorry captain Ackerman but I won't. (Gestures around the table) You can't just go around putting your speculations on random people!

Sarah: Haruno, do something!

Haruno: thi-

Josh: oh Shut up Haruno! If you want to do this operation then you will do it without me!

He storms out of the mess slamming the door behind him

After the meeting

Elita: well that would've gone better. Still I personally think that he's plan would've work.

Haruno: agreed and she would have helped us with solving the mystery of the titans and retake wall Maria too

Sarah: we're going with the commander's plan and that's final.

They were unaware that a soldier was listening to their conversation and heads off to find his squad leader.

At an unkown location in the evening.

Josh: are you sure, Armitage?

Armitage Hux: a soldier of the Republic army and Josh Erwin's right hand man of the recently formed "First Order" squad

Hux: i'm positive, Josh. I've heard them myself.

Josh: get the others.

Hux: understood. But what are you going to do?

Josh: we need one more member. And have a guess who that is.

Hux: the female titan herself?

Josh: yes. Our mission starts when you and the others meet me in Stohess with the squad. (Grabs a dagger) if all hell breaks loose, we'll need to give her a fighting chance.

Early next morning.

Josh went to Stohess before the others in hopes of reaching Annie before the scouts op.

In Stohess

Annie was walking on petrol with two other recruits called Marlo and Hitch. Marlo is the one with a bowl cut and Hitch has a fluffy hair.

Hitch: Hey Annie?

Annie: what?

Hitch: are you even listening to me?

Annie: no sorry.

Hitch was annoyed with her response and continued their petrol when Annie saw a familiar face sitting at a cafè reading his book

Annie: excuse me please.

She leaves them to the fellow at the cafè

Annie: enjoying your coffee, Josh?

Josh: (looks up from the book) hi Annie. Why don't you join me?

She does so after Josh called for a waiter to take her order after she'd ordered for the same coffee as Josh and after her coffee had arrived the waiter left them

Josh: I've seen your titan form, Annie

She choke on her drink in surprise then clears her throat.

Annie: what do you think?

Josh: it's lovely.

Then Josh sees a familiar figure in full uniform and asks for the waiter to bring takeaway cups for them

Annie: what's wrong?

Josh: promise me that you won't be cross.

Annie: ok

Josh tells her that the scouts are after her thanks to Armin and lets her know that he has a squad of his own waiting for them.

Annie: so if we run into Armin and the other two, they'll have me captured?

Josh: yes.

Annie: but this "first order" squad will protect me?

Josh: that's right. But if you do (puts his hood on) I'll be near by

Annie: thanks.

Later

Annie runs into Armin and the others in attempt to bring her underground until Armin hears a familiar voice

Josh: well ain't this something?

Mikasa: (shocked) Josh?

Eren: what are you doing here?

Josh: Isn't obvious? Stopping your plan.

Armin: (nervous) w-what p-plan?

Josh: don't even try to hide it. I've already told her.

After Armin fired an acoustic round, Josh gets Annie out in the open as the scouts gathered around the two. Josh drew a dagger and placed it in Annie's palm

Annie: Josh!? What are you doing!?

Josh: giving you a fighting chance. Now grab the blade.

She does so and Josh pulls the blade out of her hand for a transformation. As he gets clear she gotten bigger and bigger until she had her head and shoulders just above the buildings. Then Josh fired a green smoke signal indicating that the mission was a go for his squad as they sprung into action.
