I swallowed, watching him. I didn’t know what to do. “Mel? Mel? What is it?” Mike’s voice kept speaking into my ear. I slowly ended the call, keeping my eyes on Vic. “V-Vic, I can explain..”

“Explain what? Melody what were you talking about? Who was that?” He said his voice straining to speak. I took a step back, staring to cry. “Vic.. I.. I’m so sorry.”

Vic entered the bathroom then, taking my face into his hands. “What baby? What?” He whispered, wiping away my tears with his thumbs. He began crying too and I knew deep inside he knew exactly what I did. I shook my head, sobbing now. He let me go, just watching me as I cried into my hands. I couldn’t handle it anymore and I was letting it all out right in front of him. I was so sorry for cheating on him. I wondered if he’d forgive me. If he’d forgive Mike.

“T-tell me later, ok?” He asked, before leaving the room in a hurry.

Vic’s POV

I didn’t know what just happened but I had to get out of there. I hurried out of the house and got into my car. If anyone could help me right now it was Mike. I just felt like I caught her in a lie. I can’t even comfort her. It makes me sick because I love her so much. But I feel like she cheated on me. But I wonder with who?

I made it to Mike’s in minutes and got out of the car, hurrying to his door. “Hey, Mike open up!” I yelled, banging on the door. He answered, his eyes wide. “Vic?” He asked, “I need help dude, I think.. I think Melody’s cheating on me.”

I rushed into his living room and sat down, holding my head in my hands as I rocked back and forth. I couldn’t fathom such a thing. She was so perfect with her long dark hair, tattoos and sweet personality. Her pale skin was ivory to me and her beautiful brown eyes were golden. How could she do this to me? “Vic.. there’s something I have to tell you.” I blinked, looking over to him. What did she tell him she was cheating and not me? “What? Did she tell you?”

I watched him nervously fidget in front of me as he hesitated. What was bothering him so much? He shook his head. “I.. I don’t think she cheated.” He shrugged and I raised an eyebrow as he sat down. “Why the hell not? I heard her on the phone. Telling someone they can’t keep doing something.” Mike shrugged, “maybe you should ask her yourself?” I nodded, listening to him. He was right maybe I should ask her what it was about before jumping to conclusions. I smiled slightly, Mike always has the best advice. “Alright, I’ll go ask her.” I nodded, standing up to walk to the door before turning back to him. “Thanks, man.”

Mike’s POV

I smiled back. I just couldn’t tell Vic what we’ve been doing it would hurt him so much. Just then my phone rang as he left. “Hello?”

“Mike, is Vic over there?”

“He just left actually.”

“Oh, d-did you tell him.”

“No, I didn’t but he’s probably going to ask you. Just make something up and we will ..stop. But Melody I do love you, so much.”

“Oh, Mike, thank you so much.” She sniffled and I realized she had been crying. It hurt me to know she was in pain. “No problem.” I replied and ended the call. Of course she’d pick him. She loved him not me. We’d always be this secret thing. We’d never be more. I should have known that from the start.

Melody’s POV

I was all cleaned up by the time Vic got back and I had even finished packing for him. “H-hey.” I stammered, bringing his bags down. “Aw, you didn’t have to do that baby.” He smiled softly taking them from me and I was so relieved. I still had him, he was still mine. “Are you ok?” I wondered, watching him. “Only if you are.” I smiled softly. We continued bringing his bags down but I knew he had something to say. After finishing up we decided to go out for dinner which surprised me but he was leaving tomorrow. It felt awkward as we acted like everything was ok. Being seated at a fancy restaurant and then ordering. I bit my lip as I took a sip of my drink and Vic squeezed my hand softly under the table. “So babe, about earlier.. what were you talking about?” It was about time.. “Oh, my ex had kept calling me.” I rolled my eyes to make the story more believable. “I was telling him we couldn’t keep having that same conversation, me telling him to stop over and over again.” Vic blinked, “Oh well why didn’t you just say that? You started crying.. a lot. I thought you were referring to something way different.” Vic ran a hand through his hair. I shrugged, “I thought you’d think I really was cheating..”

He shook his head, “That doesn’t sound like cheating babe, you’re settling something with someone.” He smiled, rubbing circles into my hand. “I don’t think you’d ever cheat on me.” I swallowed, smiling slightly. “Never.”

From then the night got a whole lot better and we carried on normally and the ending was quite swell with a much needed goodnight kiss from Vic and maybe a little more.

The next day Vic would be leaving for tour. I was sad they were going to the UK with Sleeping With Sirens now. Vic held me close the entire ride to the airport. There we met up with the rest of Pierce The Veil. I bit my lip as I made eye contact with Mike and looked away quickly. “Well, stay safe babe. I love you and I’ll be home soon.” He smiled and pulled me close, kissing me deeply. I snuggled into his embrace, kissing him back. “I will and I love you too so much.” I smiled, not wanting to let go of his hand as they got onto the plane. I bit my lip, a tear falling from my cheek as I saw Vic wave erratically from the window. I smiled wide waving back, I barely noticed Mike wave, smiling sadly. I swallowed, maybe the time away might stop this nagging that maybe I fell in love with him too..
