Marinette opened the door to her balcony and hopped up.
"C-cat noir? What are you doing here?"
"i saw running and crying so i wanted to check up on you, are you ok?"
"yea i'm fine..." marinette said, her voice cracking
Cat noir looked at her sadly but wanted to talk to her
"Let's talk"
"....okay"
They sat silently on the balcony overlooking Paris. Tears started to well in marinettes eyes as she was thinking about the note. Cat noir placed an arm around her, giving her a side hug.
"So, what happened?"
"Lila"
"Lila rossi?"
"Yea, she is a liar. She always gets what she wants all because she lies. She even got adrien agreste."
"A-adrien? what's wrong with her getting adrien?"
"Nothing i just don't want adrien to be with a liar"
"Don't worry, adrien would never love a liar"
"Let's hope not"
Cat noirs stomach started to growl as it was near dinnertime and getting dark outside
"Stay here" Marinette disappeared into her room
Cat noir stared at the eiffel tower all lit up. Wow I didnt know how much lila could upset marinette.
Marinette climbed back onto the balcony with a tray of pastries.
"Here let's eat, fresh out of the oven"
"Wow thank you marinette"
They ate, talked on the balcony and tried every macaron flavor.
Chat noticed a paper that was by marinette.
"What's that?"
"Oh... it's the note lila gave to me"
Chat picked it up and read it
"WHAT?! I WOULD NEV- I MEAN adrien would never write something like this!"
"You think? lila is pretty persuasive.."
Chat grabbed the note and ripped it up. He stared at marinette and asked,
"Do you really think adrien agreste would ever write something like this?"
Mari looked at her hands and fidgeted with her thumbs
"Now that I think about it.. no"
"That's right, adrien is not like that"
"Do you know him personally?"
"I-err i guess you could say that"
"Adrien is someone that I never want to loose as a friend."
"Really??"
"Yes, he's important to me"
"How so?"
"He just....is"
"I should talk to you more marinette, I never really got to know you when i've saved you from villains"
"Thanks chat and you too, it's really nice to just let it all out"
Chat picked up a magenta macaron and ate it.
"What flavor macarons are these?
"Passion fruit"
"Wow they are really good"
Chat looked at mari and saw how tired she was.
"Marinette you look tired, you should get some rest"
"Your right, here take these macarons to go"
Mari handed chat a bundle of passion fruit macarons.
"Thank you marinette, i hope you feel better"
Chat was about to leap away when he turned around and looked at mari. He walked up to her and gave her a hug.
"Goodnight marinette"
In the blink of an eye, he was gone. Stunned, marinette picked up her tray of almost gone pastries and stared at Paris, all lit up.
"Goodnight chat."
She climbed back into her room and put the tray back in the kitchen.
As she was getting ready for bed, tikki flew up to her.
"What was that all about?"
"Honestly tikki i don't know, chat never comes to talk to me. Maybe he needed to talk to someone too."
"i've never seen him be so caring to anyone other than you as ladybug."
"Maybe i should talk to him more, he sure liked those macarons."
Marinette wrote in her diary and went to sleep, still wondering if cat noir was right about adrien.
I'll talk to adrien tomorrow and ask him if he wrote the note.
