Monster Island
Godzilla paced back and forth on the beach, waiting for his new recruits to show up.
"It's been 12 hours." Godzilla muttered. "Where is everyone?"
"They're coming from all over the world." Jet explained. "Farther away than that too. It's gonna take them all some time."
"I've already gotten several confirmations." Gypsy added, looking at his wrist computer. "They should be here any second now."
Despite their assurance, Godzilla still paced listlessly. He was so paranoid about where and when Ghidorah would attack that any time at all was too long. But his pacing stopped when saw a boat coming from the horizon. He squinted to see who was on it. As they got closer, he could see Kong was on it, along with Mothra. He smiled as it approached, and went to the dock to wait for them, with Gypsy and Jet joining him once they arrived. Kong was the first to step onto the island.
"I see you got our message." Godzilla said.
"We did, shortly before Gigan arrived." Kong said.
"Gigan?" Godzilla asked.
"If it weren't for him, we would have left sooner." Kong explained. "Luckily Mothra and her brothers arrived in the nick of time."
Mothra stepped onto the island too, but her face looked much more solemn. Godzilla's smile fell as he noticed this and made his way over to her.
"What's wrong?" He asked. She looked up at him, but said nothing. Godzilla's brow furrowed. He had never seen her this sad in a long time. While he pondered this, he noticed something else as well.
"Come to think of it, where's Battra and Leo?" He asked. As soon as he said Leo's name, he could see tears forming in Mothra's eyes. She began to sob and grabbed onto him tightly. Godzilla was taken aback, but instinctively wrapped his arms arround her. He had no idea what was happening, until he looked up at the boat. Kong, Varan, and Gorosaurus stepped off and onto the dock, and Godzilla could now see a body wrapped in cloth in the back. Leo's knives lay next to it. Godzilla gasped as he realized what this meant.
"... What happened?" He asked.
"Leo... he... he took a bullet for me." Mothra whimpered. "Gigan tried to shoot me, but Leo got in his way. He died... trying to protect me."
"Oh god, Mothra, I'm... I'm so sorry." He said, pulling her into an embrace. She closed her eyes and wept into his jacket. She needed his support more than anything.
"He died honourably." Kong lamented, stepping towards the two. "Battra flew off somewhere shortly after. I have no idea where he went, but Mothra seemed to know."
Godzilla looked down at her for an answer. She let go of him and wiped her tears on her sleeve before she spoke.
"I think we went back to Infant Island." She eventually admitted.
Godzilla nodded. It made sense, considering that's where all three siblings were born. Not only that, but it was the site of their old home before it was burned down. Since then the island had remained abandoned. It was the perfect place for Battra to be alone.
"I'm gonna go get him." Mothra said, pulling herself away from Godzilla.
"Are you sure you want to go alone?" He asked.
"Yeah." She nodded. "This is a family matter. He needs to talk to someone who's hurting just as much as he is."
Godzilla nodded. "Whatever you need to do." He said. Mothra leaned up and kissed him before she took off into the air. While he watched her disappear into the sky, Kong picked up Leo's body.
"I remember where his treehouse was. I'll take him there." He said.
Godzilla simply nodded. While Kong left, Varan and Gorosaurus approached Godzilla.
"This is probably a bad time for a reunion..." Varan said, scratching the back of his head. Godzilla chuckled.
"I wish it was under different circumstances. But it's good to see you guys, all the same. It's been way too long." He said.
"Sorry we weren't at the wedding. Skull Island usually can't afford to have all three of us away at one time." Gorosaurus explained.
"Except for emergency situations like this, of course." Varan added.
"Well, we're glad to have you. We're gonna need all the help we can get." Gypsy added, approaching the group. "And it would appear our next recruit is here too."
Godzilla followed his gaze to see another boat approaching. This one only had one figure on it. Godzilla recognized him immediately.
"Caesar!?" He said. The boat docked, and Caesar stepped onto the island.
"Feels like it's been ages since I've been here." He chuckled.
"We heard you've been busy." Jet told him. "You fought one of the MechaGodzilla unit prototypes, right?"
"I did." Caesar nodded. "Were there more?"
"Yeah, two more." Godzilla added. "Mothra and I fought one on our honeymoon, and another one landed here."
"Ghidorah sent them here as tests. He plans on mass producing them." Gypsy continued.
"I see..." Caesar said. "Well, I guess now I know what was so urgent about your message."
"We heard you defeated yours in less than 2 minutes." Godzilla added. "If that's true, this should be a walk in the park."
As they spoke, Jet gathered Gorosaurus and Varan and directed them to the meeting place where they would discuss their plan. All the others were already there.
"Once everyone gets back, we'll begin discussing our course of action." Jet explained.
The two Kaiju left where he had directed them, but something caught Jet's attention. A sound. A strange, alien noise. Something had begun to descend from the sky. Everyone looked up to see a strange spaceship come down from the clouds and land on the island. Godzilla was puzzled to say the least. He had never seen a ship like this before.
"Did you send that message out into space too?" He asked Jet.
"I did." Jet nodded. "I was hoping to reach a certain someone. I hope this is him."
Jet's hopes were rewarded when the door opened, and a figure clad in blue armour stepped out onto the beach. Godzilla recognized the figure immediately.
"Gamera!" He said, running over to the ship. Gamera smirked as he saw his old friend coming towards him.
"Well, if it isn't the newest married man in Japan." He chuckled, taking out his pipe and taking a few puffs from it. When Godzilla reached him, he stopped dead in his tracks. His expression went from joy to shock.
"Whoa... what happened to your arm?" He asked.
Gamera eyed his right arm, which was holding the pipe. In place of a regular flesh and blood appendage, his arm was a skeletal structure that appeared to be made of some kind of stone, glowing with firey pinkish-purple mana energy.
"Oh, this?" Gamera asked, holding up his forearm and wiggling his fingers. "Long story. Went to defeat and old rival of mine, got my arm chopped off, replaced it with pure mana energy. I sometimes forget it's not my real arm."
"Huh... you've been getting into some trouble since we last met, huh?" Godzilla chuckled. "Well, it's good to see you again."
"You too, my friend." Gamera nodded. "Though I will admit, it was more than your message that brought me here."
"What do you mean?" Jet asked. He had followed Godzilla over to Gamera's ship.
"I've... seen things." Gamera said, his previous smile now gone. "Things that Ghidorah plans to do, and things he has already done. And his plans are far more terrifying than what you know."
"Can you tell us what they are?" Godzilla asked.
"If I did, you would not believe me." Gamera said, taking another long puff from his pipe. "I pray it doesn't come down to it, but you may see in due time."
His words did nothing to put Godzilla at ease. So much had already happened before Ghidorah's real attack, he did not want to see what was coming after. He wanted to pry to get more details. If what Gamera said was true, he wanted to be more than ready. But before he could ask any further questions, he was forced to push these thoughts away as their next recruit seemed to arrive. This time, rather than a boat or some other vehicle, this figure came straight from the water. His red and yellow wetsuit and similar coloured hair were immediately striking. And as soon as Godzilla recognized who it was, he realized this was most likely not a recruit. Gypsy seemed to recognize him too. The figure could sense he had been noticed. He shook the water out of his spiky hair, and the spikes on his arms flared out. The look on his face said he knew this would happen. He said nothing as Gypsy aimed his plasma canon at him.
"What the hell are you doing here, Titanosaurus?" He growled.
"You know me?" Titanosaurus responded, crossing his arms.
"You're wanted for several crimes against humanity, and you've yet to register with the EDF Kaiju database." Gypsy explained. "So yes, I know you. Now answer my question. What are you doing here?"
"Because I need your help." Titanosaurus explained, walking forward. "Or rather, you may need mine."
Rather than approaching Gypsy, he simply pushed him out of the way and approached Godzilla, who was not happy to see him either. Years ago when SpaceGodzilla made his attack on Earth, Titanosaurus was one of his minions. After his defeat, he escaped back into the ocean. Nobody had seen or heard from him since.
"Why do you need my help?" Godzilla asked.
"Because Ghidorah is going to destroy the Earth, and I refuse to let that happen." Titanosaurus explained.
"I thought you were SpaceGodzilla's buddy." Godzilla shot back. "You quit working for him?"
"I was never working for him." Titanosaurus explained, almost offended by his statement. "I was just going along with his plan because I wanted him to leave me alone after the fact. I have no ties to him or Ghidorah."
"How did you know to come here?" Jet asked. "You're not in the database, so there was no way for you to get our message."
"I didn't need to." Titanosaurus explained. "I saw one of Ghidorah's submarines escaping from the Shatterdome not long ago. I can only assume he was breaking someone out. And the only reason for him to do that would be to put together a new army, and that would mean he's planning something. So I want to be on your side so I can help stop him."
Godzilla, Gypsy, and Jet all looked at each other. It was true, Titanosaurus was their enemy before, but perhaps they could trust him now. Godzilla had always known him as one to hold no allegiance. But that may mean he would turn on them too. Eventually, all three had made a decision, and without speaking, they all knew they'd come to the same conclusion. They nodded and turned back to Titanosaurus.
"Alright, you're in." Godzilla said. "But the second we think you're gonna betray us, you're dead. Understand?"
"Sounds fair." Titanosaurus shrugged.
While Titanosaurus went to join the other new recruits, Gypsy approached Godzilla.
"I have a feeling I know who's coming next." He said. "And uh... you're not gonna like it."
Godzilla shot him a confused look. "Who do you mean?" He asked. Before the words left his mouth, he realized who Gypsy was talking about. "Oh no, not him."
"Yeah, and here he comes." Gypsy replied. As he spoke, a figure flew overhead and landed on the island in front of them. His green and yellow vest was instantly recognizable. Godzilla rolled his eyes and sighed in frustration.
"Hey, Manda." He begrudgingly greeted. Manda stood up and turned towards the two.
"Godzilla." Manda greeted back. "I received a message from Jet Jaguar to come here. Mind explaining what's going on?"
"You had to call him too?" Godzilla asked Jet.
"I said everybody." Jet replied. Godzilla groaned and turned back to Manda.
"I'll explain everything soon. Jet will escort you the place we're all meeting." Godzilla explained, walking closer to him. "Didn't expect you give a shit about Ghidorah attacking a bunch of humans."
Manda chuckled smugly. His hatred of humanity was no secret. "Oh, I don't care about that. But as much as I hate humanity, and you, I hate Ghidorah more. And if stopping Ghidorah means a few humans get to live, so be it."
Godzilla chuckled too. "Good so see you haven't changed. You're still a douche."
"And you're still a barbarian." Manda smirked. "Looks like neither of us have changed."
As Jet escorted him, Godzilla could hear the sound of a helicopter approaching. Looking up to the source of the sound, he could definitely see a large aircraft approaching the island. He was confused at first, squinting at the aircraft while shielding his eyes from the sun. It wasn't a military helicopter, but it still looked strangely familiar.
"Who could that be?" He wondered. The helicopter landed farther away from where they were standing, and Godzilla made his way over to it, followed close behind by Gypsy. The door on the helicopter opened, and before they could reach it, a small but fast creature burst from the door and ran on all fours towards them. It seemed to be humanoid, despite running like an animal.
"Godzillaaaaaa!!!" The creature shouted enthusiastically. Godzilla's eyes widened. He recognized the voice immediately.
"Charlie!?" He said, right before the creature barrelled into him. The wind was knocked out of him as he landed on his back, the creature crouched on his chest. Indeed, Godzilla looked up to see the grinning face of Charlie, one of the Gijinka Raptors from Jurassic World.
"We missed you so much!" She said, her tail whipping around like an excited puppy. "You wouldn't believe what happened since you left! First, we started cleaning up the island. Then, I stubbed my toe. Then I cried, but Owen let me eat a whole dead goat to cheer me up! Then I went to sleep, then I-"
"Alright, Charlie, I get it." Godzilla laughed. Charlie got off of him, letting him stand up and hug her. "It's good to see you too! I see you've grown a lot." He placed his hands on her shoulders to get a good look at her.
"Uh huh! We all have!" Charlie nodded. When Godzilla had first met the raptors, they appeared to be teenage girls. Now, they looked closer to young adults. Suddenly, Charlie shot to attention, as if she'd just remembered something important. "Ooh, hold on, I'll be right back." She let go of Godzilla and ran back to the helicopter, where the other raptors were getting off. Godzilla smirked at her enthusiasm as he stood back up. Gypsy was a little more than confused.
"Uh... what the hell are they?" He asked. They weren't in his database, and they didn't look like any Kaiju he'd ever seen.
"They're Gijinkas." Godzilla explained. "You remember Jurassic World, right?"
"The theme park?" Gypsy nodded.
"Yeah, they used my DNA a while back to make these dinosaur/Kaiju hybrids called Gijinkas." Godzilla continued. "Charlie's one of the Raptor Squad. They're velociraptor hybrids."
"What about that one?" Gypsy asked. Godzilla turned back to the aircraft, seeing all the Raptors, along with someone else. She was tall, muscular, and her face was scarred. Her long black locks hung over her shoulders and her eyes were a practically glowing yellow. She looked a lot like the Raptors, but nearly three times their size. Godzilla recognized her as well.
"That's a T-Rex." He explained.
