09 - Lunch

Annie picked Noah up from his dorm and took him out for lunch.

"Talk to me," Annie said after they ordered. "What's been going on?"

"I don't know," Noah said.

"You still love Sabrina, don't you?"

"Annie, we just broke up back in August," Noah said. "I don't know how to move on."

"Ask someone on a date," Annie said. "Through yourself out there."

Noah sighed.

"I can set you up with someone," Annie offered. "I know this girl who you'll like."

"I don't know, Annie," Noah said. "I don't want to date anyone."

"Okay," Annie accepted that her friend didn't want to date anyone. "How are you, really?"

"I honestly don't know," Noah said.

"You said she likes this other guy?" Annie asked.

"Yeah," Noah said. "She called me the other day. Since, you know, we're friends now and all, she wanted to make sure the I was okay with her seeing the other guy."

"What did you say?"

"I said okay," Noah shrugged. "I want her to be happy."

Annie gave Noah a small smile.

Noah took a deep breath.

Their waiter brought their food to them and they began to eat.
