55 - Phone Call

Noah just got back home from an audition. He was pretty exhausted.

As soon as he finished from his classes on Friday, he immediately drove to an audition for a role he's been hoping to get as soon as his agent told him about the role.

He opened the fridge door for a bottle of water when his phone began ringing. 

"Hello?" Noah said, answering his phone.

"Hey," Sabrina greeted him.

"Hey, what's up?"

"Oh, uh, not much, but I wanted to talk to you."

"Yeah?"

"I was talking to Maya and Liz."

Noah's heart sank.

"Oh."

"Do you like Laura?" she asked.

"What?"

"Do you like her?"

"I -" Noah sighed. "Yes, I do."

"Oh."

"Look, I know you and Laura and friends. I'm not planning on pursuing anything with her. I don't want to ruin your friendship with her."

"Oh. Noah, if you like her, ask her out."

"What? You're okay with this?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Noah, we both moved on. I want you to be happy."

"Thanks," Noah said. "But..."

"I'll talk to her," she assured Noah. "Just go ask her out."

"Are you sure you're okay with this?"

"Yes, I'm sure, Noah. Just go over to her house. I'll call her now."

"O - okay."

Laura was in her apartment, making herself dinner when her phone began to ring.

It was Sabrina calling.

"Hey, Sabrina," Laura greeted Sabrina.

She put Sabrina on speaker phone to make dinner as she talked.

"Hey."

"Everything okay?" Laura asked.

"Yeah. Everything is fine."

"Any plans tomorrow?"

"Yeah, I'm going out with Griffin tomorrow."

"Ooh, have fun," Laura said

"Thanks. I, uh, I just talked to Noah. I was talking to Maya and Liz before that."

"Oh," the smile on Laura's face disappeared.

"Hey, if you want to do anything with Noah, I'm fine with it."

"What?" Laura said.

"I had a feeling that you like Noah for a while," Sabrina explained, "but I wasn't sure until we became friends. And I know Noah likes you."

"Yeah, well, too bad Noah doesn't want to pursue anything," Laura said, disappointedly.

"Yeah, well, I'm not sure about that anymore," Sabrina said.

"What do you mean?" Laura asked.

Someone knocked on the door.

"Oh, someone's at the door."

"Answer it!" Sabrina said.

Laura opened the door. 

It was Noah.
