Anxiety

Walk fast
Head down
Don't look at anyone
Everyone is watching

Walk faster
Breathing heavily
Hands shaking
Someone's coming

Look back
Once, twice, thrice
But no one is there
Where did they go?

Turn back around
Continue walking
You hear something
Behind you!

But there's nothing
Sweat trickling down
You face, arms, and hands
Breathe in, breathe out

Head down
Everyone's watching
Hands into fists
Knuckles turning white

Dig your nails
Until you come back
To reality
That no one is there

It's in your head
But you can't help it
Your chest hurts
From not having oxygen

This is what anxiety feels like
It is not a joke
It is not fun
We don't make it up

Anxiety is in 18.2% of the worlds population
Anxiety is in 18.1% of the U.S
So no,
Anxiety isn't fun
Anxiety is hell
