I slowly closed my eyes letting the letter slip from my fingers, I heard how the thick paper landed on the hardwood floor. But I didn't care. She had known this would happen, she had known. I heard the door open and saw both of my sisters in the doorway. Lani was holding a plate with food and Teagen was standing behind her. Her eyes was concerned, she looked sad. Way safer than a normal fifteen years old girl should. I looked into her now wet eyes, she gave me a trying smile before putting down a cup on the table by the door and then she left. Not saying a thing
"I know she misses her" Lani's voice was soft as she put the plate down next to the cup
"She just doesn't know how to show it, you know Teagen she don't like showing emotion" she smiled as she walked towards me sitting on my bed and sat down on the floor in front of me
"She'll be ok, just like you will and I will" she spoke carefully
"Everyone has a different way of coping" I felt Lani's hand in mine as she gave me a squeeze.
"Yeah" I answered and squeezed her back
"You know Iris, she was always happy no matter what she felt, I know that she was hiding her emotions, just like Teagen does" she gave me a soft smile her eyes was dead serious
"But Teagen has us, Iris only had you" I felt my respect for my sister rise as she talked. I had never known she was this wise
"I hope you will smile again soon I miss it" I looked into her eyes
"I miss it too" both of us turned to see our sister standing in the doorway, she was standing there with her eyes filled with tears
"Oh Teagen" Lani's soft voice choked up as she started to cry opening her arms for her older sister I slowly slipped down and embraced them both as we cried
"I love you two" I felt the words escape my lips
"Stop your going to make me cry more" Teagen exclaimed and we laughed.
In that moment everything was ok, I was happy again for that moment I was fine, but moments don't last forever, a black haired girl with blue eyes learned me that.
