❝The road trip of a lifetime❞
SynopsisFleur had big dreams for her future — wait let me rephrase that; everyone else had big dreams for Fleur's future. Dreams that were more like demands, rules that Fleur had to follow if she wanted to be happy. According to everyone else at least. Fleur lived the life that she was told to. Straight A's, no parties, too much homework and no free time.
The week before graduation Fleur decides that she needs to have her first and last weekend of fun before the ivy league university she was attending in the fall. Sorry, the Ivy League university her parents bought her way into.
It was a simple plan really, Fleur would tell her parents that she was staying at Charlie's, and Charlie that she was out of town for the week. She made sure to cover all her bases, cross all her T's and dot all her I's. There were no loose strings.
She would leave Friday after school, tell Charlie that she had to rush home to catch the flight to her grandparents. And then she would walk a few blocks over and hail a cab, all while texting her mom that she was on her way to her best friends and being safe.
All liesFleur would book a room for the weekend at some random hotel she found that accepted cash. A fake name and everything. Like I said, she wasn't going to leave anything up to chance, she even made sure to stop at Whole Foods on the way and grab some snacks so if her mom did check her credit card she wouldn't question it.
But of course, it didn't matter how high Fleur's GPA was, she forgot to account for one thing: Everett.
Tall, dark, bad boy Everett who was everything her parents told her to stay away from. He was charming and cute with too many tattoos and unexplained wads of cash in his back pocket.
And after a few too many drinks Fleur and Everett wind up on a greyhound bus going
who-knows-where with no money, dead phones, and hangovers.Fleur is stranded in Texas
and her only way back home is with Everett.
Now the two are on a road trip back so Fleur can walk across the stage and graduate. And Everett can get his end of the deal: money. More than he'll make in a month — and all he has to do is help her get home before Saturday morning. There's nothing but an open road and memories to take. And maybe that's exactly what Fleur and Everett will drive straight into. And maybe a little love along the way too.
