{Phoenix Pov}

"Straighten your tie, and fix your hair" My mother snaps as I roll my eyes before fixing my black hair while we walked downstairs to greet our guests coming over to our castle,

"I still don't know why we have to get all fancied up just to see a bunch of old royal people sitting together in our castle?" I ask before she quickly slapped my arm,

"Be respectful, your next in line for my throne and these old people here are going to be the ones you have to make amends with if there were ever a war or something happening in our kingdom" She explains as the guards of our castle led us to our meeting room we had in the castle,

"Your queen and prince Diamon" The guard announces as we walk into the meeting room seeing people sitting around the circle table waiting for us to be seated at the head of the table,

"Let's the meeting begin" My mother announces as soon as the meeting room doors closed,

"What was the reason why Ryder is in the nursing room?" My uncle says looking between my mother and I suspiciously,

"He was out in the town with one of our slaves an-"

"A slave? What was he doing with a slave? Especially  out in public?" My aunt buds in with a dramatic gasp making my eyes roll,

"Your son wanted someone with him during the yearly carnival the town you guys should already know your son love going to around this time"

"But out of everyone in this big castle of yours, he had to go with a slave? What type of image do you want our son to have when he roams around with a low species such as human slaves-" before my aunt could continue I slammed my hand down on the table front of me making the room silent,

"You will not disrespect my mother, her castle and the people in it. Your son was the one who took the slave out on his own so it was no way any of us could have known that some rabid vampires were going to attack him while he was out there!"

My mother placed her hand on mine gesturing me to calm down as I sat back on my chair with a grunt.

"What my son is saying is that, we had no knowledge of the break through of rabid vampires running ramped around our kingdom until now while my nephew Ryder was out"

"So basically your kingdom isn't doing their job, on that note maybe we should rethink about having you as the queen of this kingdom?"

Before I could retort back to the asshole who had the audacity to say that stupid shit about my mother, the closed doors of the meeting room was thrown open revealing a limping Ryder.

"I object!"

Everyone turned to him with confused looks as he stands at the door way while laughing.

"Sorry, I've been wanting to do that for a while. But anyways! Back to the whole reason for this meeting, no it is not the queen nor the prince fault that I was attacked yesterday night. It was my own pride that led me to go in unguarded as the people in town last night were being attacked by a large group of rabid vampires. If anyone were to blame, it is me. I didn't go to town with anyone else other than myself, one of the house maids, and the driver of the coach we were driving into town"

The room was staying still with silence as everyone was taking in Ryders words. He walked around the room with a limp before sitting beside my mother on the opposite of me.

"Now instead of going back and forth for no important reason regarding my injuries, let's talk about the fact that all the most powerful royal families are here today sitting together in this room. Although it would've been a joy to celebrate the fact that we are finally together for once since we barely are, we need to get down to the plan of how we are going to eliminate the issue of random half breed vampires popping out of nowhere and attacking our people"
