Someone Special

"So, what do you wanna do?" Daniel asked.
I shrugged, "I don't know, up to you."
We stood there thinking about what to do.
"Hey I saw a park around here, wanna go there?"
I smiled, "Sure! I'll go get my shoes and we can head out."
I went to my room and got my Converse, then walked towards the door where Daniel was. 

"Let's go!" I said.
Daniel opened the door and moved out the way so I could go first. I was about to step out but remembered to tell Alex where I was going.
"ALEX!" I yelled.
Alex came out of his room with a toothbrush in his mouth. "Mwhat?!" He said.
"Oh my goodness this is embarrassing." I whispered to myself. 

"Uhh, I'm going out with Daniel, I'll be back later." I said.
He went back to his room to rinse his mouth and came back out. "Ok, have fun! Be home when the sunsets."
"Alright, see ya!" I walked out the door and Daniel followed, closing the door behind him.

As we were walking, Daniel and I were kicking little pebbles around.
"So, you going to West Valley High?" I asked, trying to start a conversation.
"Yeah. Guess you're going too?" He said.
"Yep!"

We got to the park and sat on a bench.
"It's really nice out!" I said.
"Yeah, it is." A nice breeze blew my hair. Daniel put his arm behind me, probably to get comfortable. I looked over at him and smiled, and he smiled back.
"Let's go on the swings." I said.
"What? No way!" Daniel said in a serious tone.
"Why not?" I asked.
I looked down because I was getting a little embarrassed. I sounded like a little kid, and I didn't want Daniel to think I was a little kid. I was just trying to have fun!

"We gotta go down the slide first!" He said.
I looked back up at him and we smiled at each other.
"Race you!" I said, running towards the slide.
"Hey!" Daniel got up and ran as fast as he could so he could beat me.
