CHAPTER NINE

"So I have been asking myself. The school is filled with so many students. Why did you pick me to bully. Not like I'm not honored or anything."
I said before I took a bite of my ice cream.

William tapped his cheeks with a spoon like he was thinking it over.

"Well when you first came to the school I saw that you were alone. Even after sometime you hadn't talked to anyone so that means if I started bullying you no one would stand up for you, plus you didn't strike me as the type of girl to talk back or even stand up for herself. So you were easy, no offense."

"Wow I never knew bullying took so much work. I'm impressed."

"No one really knows how hard a bully works. Im glad someone has noticed it."
He said before we erupted into laughter.

"I wish school was as easy as bullying."
He says after a while of laughter.

"Yah then everyone would get an A."

"I can only dream of an A."
He said sounding a bit disappointed.

"What is that suppose to mean?"
I asked.

"I think it's clear to everyone im not good at anything concerning school."

I turned silent for a while as I was thinking his words over.

"Do you want to be?"
I asked.

"Yes, yes i do."
He said.

"Maybe i can help."
I said popping the 'p'.

"How?"
He asked and it took a while to notice the serious expression on his face.

"They dont call me the nerd for nothing."
I said putting on a western accent.

"Oh. I forgot."
He said as he looked the other way. Probably because he is the one who started calling me that.

"So your gonna help me?"
William asked.

"Of course I am. What are friends for."
I said smiling.

"Thanks a lot Thami."
William said as he embraced me in a bone crushing hug.

"William... Can't...breathe."
I said as I tapped him on his shoulder.

"Oh sorry. "
He said as he put me down.

"So when are we gonna start?"
He asked after a while the smile not leaving his face.

"Right now. With exams around the corner we got to get going."
I said with my serious face.

"So where are we gonna study. I mean we can't do it at my house and we can't do it at yourz so.."

I tapped my cheek with my index finger as I thought of the perfect place. "We will study on that hill."

"You mean the one you almost killed yourself on? "
He asked.

"Yah. That's actually where our friendship started, kinda."
I said smiling at the memory of William saving my life.

"So we will study in the morning in the school's library. At lunch we study in the same place and at the afternoon we will study on the hill."

"Yes mam, yes mam."
William said as he gave me a salute.

"Okay let's get started then."

~Three weeks later~

Its been three weeks since me and William have started studying and two weeks since we started writing our finals. William has been doing really well and it seems like he's smarter than me. What? No. Never. He could be smart all he wants but he can never get to this.
