Children swing on the porch swing
giggling about absolutely nothing
finches and humming birds watch them sitting
parents come out yelling
fighting again about nothing
but the birds watch the children
keeping them company
as chaos surrounds their thinking
little red finch comes to the kids
introducing himself with a tough chest
showing them through the loud voices you may still be brave
that's what saved them
