Normal = EnglishAdda's long braid was whipping in the wind, the rest of her hair tied securely into a braided bun at the back of her head. Her long machete was hanging from her khaki shorts at her hip, on the left side. The chopper was cutting through the skies and taking the group to where they will be taking samples of the trees. Her feet were hanging over the side off the chopper swinging back and forth, sometimes skimming the water they passed by. She mostly ignored whatever was said by the others, in awe of the scenery they were flying by. So much more beautiful than earth.
Soon enough Trudy was about to land the chopper in a small clearing. A few feet from the ground Jake jumped off first and surveyed the area with the door gun he took. Adda followed him not long after the chopper lands completely relishing in the feel of dirt beneath her feet. She decided not to wear any shoes for the excursion thinking that it felt odd to wear them.
Grace and Norm got off too and Grace was making hand signs at Trudy to stop the chopper, "Shut it down! We'll be staying a while!" Her words would have been inaudible if not for the communicator around her neck. She turns to Norm, "Norm! Your pack!" "My pack!" Norm runs back to get his things. Trudy shuts down the chopper and another idiot with a gun clambers out to help Jake with the survey, Grace points at him, "Stay with the ship. One idiot with a gun is enough."
The guy stops in his tracks, shruggs a bit and says, "You the man doc."
Jake leads the way, Adda coming in close behind him. Jake immediatley puts up his guard when a band of prolemurs pass by. "Stop that." Adda lowers the barrel of his gun, "They're prolemurs, not aggressive." Grace looks at him in disdain. "Relax marine," Grace and Adda pass him and start leading the group, "you're making me nervous."
Grace, now in the lead, guides the group further into the jungle. "So, how will they know we're here?" Norm looks at Grace, "I'm sure they're watching us right now." Was his only awnser, making him even more paranoid of what was coming. Jake was casting nervous looks at the tree tops. "Keep moving Norm." Adda was just happy to be connecting with nature and feeling her reserves grow. Maybe she could finally be able to cast that barrier spell for more than a minute now.
Grace and Norm stopped at one of the trees and crouched to expose the roots underneath the dirt. With a needle in hand Grace and Norm geek out on the signal transduction between the roots. Adda wasn't all that interested since she came here as a medic and not a scientist, though Jake wasn't a scientist either. In the end the two cousins walked off into the jungle curious about what they might see.
Not too far from the others the two find some weird looking spiral plants. "Helicordians," Adda told Jake, "these are coral helicordians. Their defense mechanisms are really funny." She casts Jake a look and smirks, "wanna see?" Jake smirks back and Adda reaches out to touch one of the plants.
She brushes it gently with her finger and it retreats into the ground with a shwop sound. Surprised Jake let's out a laugh and goes to touch one too. It does the same thing the one Adda touched did and they both become excited. They started touching helicordiands left and right, but it causes a chain reaction. All the helicordians retreat into the ground, leaving them both out in the open and in the complete view of a juvenile hammerhead titanothere.
Jake raises his gun as it honks at the two throwwing it's head side to side, breaking some trees in a threat of territorial display. Adda eyes dilate in fear and her tail twitches back and forth. "Don't shoot. Don't shoot! You'll piss him off!" Grace says into her communicator. "He's already pissed off!" Jake screams back at her as she and Norm hide behind one of the nearby trees. "Jake that armors too thick. Trust me."
