Elizabeth's Story: BOOK 3: A New Adventure

Varian's Proposal

Elizabeth's POV:

"What's next on my schedule?" I asked myself, looking over my check-list for the day.

"No need to worry with the boring to-do list Ellie" Eugene said, lowering the list from infront of me.

"Where did you two come from!?" I asked.

"We're everywhere" Lance said.

"Right...well, can you guys stand aside please? I need to get outside" i said.

"You know Ellie you've been helping Varian so much lately, you could really use a break"

"I really don't mind the work, it helps keep me busy" i said.

"Nonsense! Take a little break, one day won't hurt, a day on the town on us!" Eugene said.

"Shouldn't i at least tell Varian i-"

"We've discussed it already, he agreed it was fine."

"Well i have been meaning to pick up new alchemy equipment" i said.

"Perfect! We'll stop there first!" Lance said, grabbing my arm and dragging me off.

Today's gonna be a long day.

Varian's POV:

"Ok buddy, how's it look so far?" I asked Ruddiger as i adjusted the tablecloth.

He nodded and ran to get some flowers to put in the vase.

Elizabeth's POV:later

"Ok guys this has been fun but i really need to get some work done" i said.

They seemed nervous.

"Well uh-" Lance stuttered.

He and Eugene looked out the window and then seemed to calm down.

"Ok Ellie, but don't stress yourself" Eugene said as they walked away.

Why are those guys so weird?

I stepped out into the garden which was lit by the moonlight, not realizing the door closing behind me.

Suddenly a pair of gloved hands covered my eyes.

"Guess who" a familiar voice said.

I laughed a little.

"Ok Var, what are you up to?" I joked.

"I'm not up to anything, love" he said.

"Like i believe that! You had Lance and Eugene distract me all day" i said.

"How did you know!?" He asked.

"Lance had multiple times where he mentioned you were planning something, then Eugene would step on his foot or something to get him to stop talking." I said.

"I knew i couldn't trust them with keeping their mouths shut!" He said.

"Don't worry, they never said what it was you were planning"

Varian breathed a sigh of relief.

"Close your eyes" he said.

I rolled my eyes jokingly before i closed them.

I felt him grab my hands and start walking.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"If i told you it wouldn't be a suprise" he said.

He led me up a short set of stairs before letting go of my hands.

A few minutes later i felt his hands on my shoulders.

"Ok, you can look now" he said.

I opened my eyes to see the table on the terrace set up for the two of us.

"So this is what you've been up to" i said.

He nodded and pulled up a chair.

"Have a seat, M'lady" he said.

I laughed a little and sat down.

"So, what's the occasion?" I asked

"What? Can't i suprise my girlfriend with a nice little date?" He asked.

"Var, that's sweet but i know your up to something" i said.

"Fine, you know me to well" he pouted.

"Ellie, how long have we been dating for?" He asked.

"Seven years now" i said.

"And how much have we been through together?"

"Oh, more things then i can keep track of" i laughed.

"That's my point, we've been through alot together, good, bad, easy, difficult, even at the beginning of all of this when i felt alone and abandoned, you never gave up on me, you've been by my side through it all" he said.

Then he got down on one knee.

I covered my mouth in shock as he reached into his pocket.

"And i never want that to change...so what i wanted to ask was..."

He pulled out a ring and held it up.

"Will you marry me?" He asked.

"Varian" i felt tears running down my face.

Not in a bad way though, i was just really emotional.

"Yes! Yes of course i will" i said holding out my hand.

He put the ring on my finger and stood back up.

I grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him into a kiss.

"I love you, so much" i said.

"I love you too, and i can't wait to be able to call you my wife" he said.
