Y/N L/N ALWAYS knew she would be an actress even from a young age. From being in school plays and plays in the neighborhood, she always loved acting. When she met her best friend, Conan Gray, that's when her acting career really started.
Since she started acting she's been in many of Conan's music videos and even starred in The Walking Dead.
On a lovely Sunday afternoon, the set of best friends was sitting around, paying attention to their phones as if they were alone. "Is it just me or do we do this all the time when we hang out?" Conan questioned and looked over at his best friend.
"You're right. We need new things to do." She agreed and put her phone down. "So how's the music thing going?" She asked curiously.
"Great, how's the acting thing going?" He replied.
Y/n has had a bit of a dry spell with roles recently. After TWD she hasn't had many offers. She waited for the moment that would change but it hasn't yet. It might not change at all. She feared she would never get a role in a show or movie again. "Not too great. Still haven't gotten any offers." She admitted with a sad look on her face.
"You'll get an offer soon." Conan spoke in a comforting tone. As if on queue, Y/n's phone began to ring. "Am I a wizard? Where's my letter to Hogwarts?" He asked as he glanced at Y/n's phone screen.
"My god." She replied and answered the phone and held it to her ear. "What's up?" She asked the person on the other end.
"Okay I know you've been without a job recently from the lack of roles but I think I have one you'll love." Her manager Sage spoke with a happy tone.
"I'll take almost anything at this point." She replied and heard a chuckle from Conan and her manager. "But what is it?" She questioned.
"If you choose to accept then you'll play the lead role in Nick Cassavetes' new movie Angel Of Paradise alongside Elizabeth Olsen and a few other famous actors." She explained. Y/n couldn't help but smile at the offer.
She loved Elizabeth Olsen for as long as she could remember. After seeing her make her first appearance in the MCU she instantly became a fan. "So what do you say?" Sage questioned as she continued to wait for an answer.
"Yeah, I'd love that! Thank you so much!" She replied.
"You should be expecting your script in the mail soon." Sage replied then hung up.
She shouted excitedly and jumped up, beginning to dance around happily. Conan watched in confusion, wondering what she was offered. "So what was the offer?" Her best friend asked curiously.
"So the guy that directed The Notebook wants me to be in his new movie Angel of Paradise, Elizabeth Olsen and other famous actors are supposed to be in it too." She spoke then Conan joined her in the celebration.
When the two calmed down Conan had to ask thousands of questions. "When are you getting the script?" He asked curiously. He seemed more excited than Y/n sometimes, in the best way obviously.
"Sometime soon." She replied. She couldn't handle the waiting. She wanted to see what she was going to be part of now. "I just gotta wait for it in the mail apparently." She added.
Conan nodded as a response and stood up. "Get your coat, I'm taking you out for dinner to celebrate." Conan spoke then the two grabbed their coats after pulling on their shoes. They walked out to his car and once they got in, Conan began driving in the direction of their favorite restaurant, The Vineyard.
Halfway through their meal, they started a debate about pineapple on pizza. No one knows why it started but it just did. "You have to be crazy to think that belongs on pizza." Conan argued. He was so passionate about this. He truly believed it didn't belong.
"I beg to differ. I think it's great." Y/n replied. The conversation went on for a while and eventually, the two couldn't help but laugh at how stupid they were being. "Thanks for celebrating with me, Conan." She spoke with a smile.
"No need to thank me." He replied. He smiled before he continued. "You're my best friend so of course, I'm gonna celebrate with you." He added with a chuckle and Y/n joined in.
Through the rest of their meal, they talked about anything they could think of, they didn't care how stupid it sounded. At one point a tour was a topic of conversation. She knew he was gonna go on tour soon, he planned on going after this movie was released, whenever that was gonna be. He wanted Y/n there with him.
After Conan paid for everything they went back out to the car and Conan began the drive back to Y/n's house.
"I, I wanna cry, I can't deny tonight, I wanna up and hide!" The two sang together as music blared from the speakers of the car. The two sang along to songs from Disney movies, Taylor Swift, and many other different artists. They would have singing competitions all the time but they could never agree who won, they both knew it was Conan though.
"Okay but like think about this for a second." He stated then began his thought. "What if this movie gives you and Elizabeth a chance to really connect and she falls in love with you or something." He suggested, Y/n was quick to shoot it down.
"There's no way that's gonna happen. This isn't some big romance story." She replied honestly. She dreamed that would happen one day but she knew it wouldn't.
"You never know, it could happen." He stated. "It happened with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, and Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck although they got divorced they still fell in love." He explained honestly. He rambled on about different couples that fell in love on set till eventually got back to the point he was trying to make. "The point is, it happens all the time and it could possibly happen to you." He spoke and took a deep breath.
She thought about it for a moment then she shot it down once again. "I'll believe it when I see it." She replied and then played the next song.
When the two got back to Y/n's house, they walked into the house for Conan to get anything else he needed before he could leave.
"Did you get what you needed?" Y/n asked as she entered the living room from the kitchen after she got a drink from the fridge.
"Yeah, I think so." He spoke they heard someone's phone playing a notification sound. Conan checked his phone only to find out it wasn't his phone. "That must be your phone." He spoke and then walked over toward his friend.
She pulled her phone out of her back pocket to see an Instagram notification. She clicked on it to open the app thinking it was just a notification for something a fan sent to her but she was wrong. Very wrong.
When she saw the name on the screen her jaw was practically on the floor. Conan and Y/n moved their focus from the screen to each other many times trying to figure out if it was a mistake or if it happened on purpose.
She was surprised to see Elizabeth Olsen texting her.
"This is where it starts." Conan spoke with a 'told you so' tone. Y/n looked over at him and hit him on the arm before thinking of how to respond.
"What do I say? What if I embarrass myself?" Y/n thought out loud and paced around the room. Nervous was an understatement for how she was feeling. This was one of her favorite actresses of all time and she was messaging her.
"Just text her back, say literally anything." Conan suggested. "You already opened and now she knows you read it. If you don't respond she'll think you let her on read." He explained and Y/n knew he was right.
She had to say something, just something that wasn't creepy or weird. She could do that. The best response in the book. She texted back a simple 'hi, how are you.' That was the best she could think of at the time.
"Have fun with that, I'll text you later." Conan spoke with a smirk then he left, leaving her all alone.
"What am I gonna do?" Y/n asked herself then she heard the text alert once again. What could possibly go wrong? Absolutely nothing. Right?
