Coomer x Gender neutral! Reader

Plot:
Dr. Coomer and the reader have been together for quite awhile. The reader always tries to keep Coomer out of trouble but usually fails. Today was one of those days and this time reader gets hurt and it provokes Coomer to get more protective.

Y/n and Dr. Coomer have been together for quite awhile. Dr. Coomer was always highly protective of his lover but never of himself. Now Y/n was by no means weak but Coomer enjoyed protecting them. Just as they enjoyed seeing Coomer safe and not injured. Now it mostly didn't work because he was always so sure he could do it without getting injured (most of the time he was right) but sometimes he wasn't so they liked to play it safe. Well today was one of those days where they encountered a problem and Dr. Coomer was sure he could do it without him or them getting harmed. They had reached a certain room that had a large body of water in the center. They needed to get across to get to where they needed but how? Well why don't they swim across? Simple, there were 𝐓𝐖𝐎, not one but TWO mutated sharks in the water. "The scientist in the room back said that there were tranquilizers in the shark cage. But he doesn't know if it'll work with this species" Y/n said nervously being careful to not fall into the water. Gordon looked at the water then began looking around for a different route to take. "Yeah but how do we get to it? The shark cage is in the water!" Gordon said as a shark came up to him and Y/n and snapped at the two. "Ahhhhh! F**K!" Y/n and Gordon yelled at the same time as they clung on to one another and of course the wall.

"Don't worry! I'll protect you!" Coomer yelled as he jumped into the water to kill the sharks. "Coomer no!!" Y/n yelled as they and Gordon began searching for Coomer on the surface of the water. "Y/n watch out!" Tommy yelled as a shark as coming up from besides them. As Y/n went to move the shark lunged and grabbed them by the shoulder and dragged them into the water. Dr. Coomer had just finished killing the first shark and went to the surface to get some fresh air when he heard his partner yell. The scream quickly became gurgling as the man searched for a split second before flaring with anger. "Y/n! Don't worry! I'lls ave you !" He yelled diving back down to find his lover. Y/n had managed to kick the shark off and Coomer smiled in relief before swimming to them and angrily beating the shark. He wasted no time in destroying it. After he was done he grabbed Y/n and brought them back to he surface and onto the concrete floor. Y/n groaned in pain as they held their shoulder. "WAY TO GO GENIUS!" Bubby yelled causing Coomer to get up and punch him in the face, "Will you kindly shut the F**K UP!" Coomer yelled in anger as he then grabbed Y/n before haul assing to the nearest health station. It didn't take too long before they arrived at one. "Oh Y/n I am terribly sorry! I didn't think it was that big of a deal!" Coomer apologized as he began rambling on. Y/n chuckled and they shook their head before kissing Coomer on his forehead. "Coomer, it's fine" They said as they began patching themselves up. "But next time, please, please, think about things before blindly running into battle"

Y/n emphasized the second please as they finished bandaging themselves up. Dr. Coomer nodded eagerly as he cracked a smile. "Will do! Now let's rest here for the while! You are injured and need rest!" He said as he hugged the
Y/b/t (Your body type, curvy, skinny, thicc, etc.) person with love and affection. When the others arrived Bubby was pissed. His nose was bleeding and his glasses had cracked. But they didn't say a word as they walked in and laid around the couple. Bubby fully intended on beating Coomer's ass the next day though. But for now they all laid down and began resting.
