👀 Non-binary Headcanons 👀

Plot: The science teams react to you being non-binary!

Hlvrai Crew:

Gordon:
Gordon is a bit confused but understands completely and understands. He doesn't know what to label himself though. Since you are non-binary you are not a boy or a girl so he doesn't know if he should call himself, Bi, Straight, Gay, Pan. He just doesn't know. Though he loves you all the same, he wouldn't leave you no matter what.

Benrey:
Benrey confuses Non-binary with Genderfluid. But after some explaining he realizes that you are neither a boy or girl and yet he is still confused. He loves you, but he just doesn't understand the concept but after awhile he does. He finds it cool and interesting and in the end asks if he can refer to your gender as battle toaster. If you say no he'd be a little sad but he'd understand. If you say yes, it's a whole new ballgame.

Tommy:
Tommy has no idea what the hell Non-binary is. But after some explaining he finally understands. Tommy likes to think that you are too good for the world so in order to hide your greatness you liked to be called they/them instead of a gender like he/him or she/her. It genuinely amazes Tommy and he adores you even more (if that's even possible). He will personally go out today his way to make sure everyone in Black Mesa knows that you are a they/them.

Darnold:
Darnold's eyes would widen as he would start questioning you. He'll even ask you if you'd like him to make you a potion to make you look like a non-binary person so everyone would know. He would also get these cute little non-binary stickers and pins that way incase anyone has questions about if he has a boyfriend or a girlfriend they would know he just had a significant other!

Bubby:
"Cool"
That was his exact response to you. He didn't say it to be rude. But simply because he didn't know how the hell to respond to it. When you ask him if he still loves you he'd ask if you're still Y/n. Since he knows the answer is yes there is your answer. Bubby genuinely doesn't care, he's happy that you are you and loves you all the same. If someone misgenders you or is disrespectful about it Bubby will definitely fight that person for you. And fire is most likely going to be brought into this.

Dr. Coomer:
"Does that mean you're not my lover!?"
Coomer is instantly confused and worried. He thinks that since you're non-binary that you are no longer his lover and don't want to be called that. But once he realizes what it really means, he's beyond proud! Proud that you came out and expressing yourself and proud to be your boyfriend and to have you as his significant other! He'd also get a non-binary flag for you and little stickers and pins for you as well.

Gman:
Gman is curious about it and practically wants a full report on what it is. Why you feel this way. What it means to be non-binary. He just wants to learn everything and anything about it. He loves you even more because he knows there aren't many being like you and now that you are non-binary it just adds to your specialty. But he will constantly ask how you would prefer to dress and what you would like for him to get you (clothing wise) incase he takes Tommy shopping and doesn't bring you (and example is he is planning a surprise for you).

Gordon:
Interesting. That is what it is. Gordon hadn't ever heard the term and didn't exactly know why you were non-binary but it made you happy so you had his full support. He'd punch Gman in the face if he dared call you the wrong pronoun. (he tried it one time and it didn't turn out too good for either man, but still) Gordon is also extremely protective and always wants to make sure that people understand the consequences of being disrespectful to you.

Barney:
Barney is similar to Bubby. He'll respond with something along the lines of "I'm proud of you", "Cool!" or "Nice to know dear, wanna get a beer to celebrate?". These are responses because he simply doesn't know how to respond either. I mean what did you think he was gonna do break up with you? Ridiculous.

Dr. Kleiner:
Seeing as he never heard the term or its definition before it is quite interesting to him. He loves to hear the term used for you because it's exotic, just like you. He'll help to make sure that everyone gets your non gender self correct. He isn't a violent man but he'll resort to it if it means someone listens to you.

Gman:
If you thought the others were interested, they have nothing on Gman. He'll start observing you closely. Even though it is extremely creepy and wrong he wants to see what your sex is. Maybe you're like him. Your body shows one thing but it isn't what you feel or want to be. He feels drawn to you more because of this fact. Maybe he'll have to keep you around longer...
