After hearing of Queen Cathrine's passing, I went to see how Mary was doing and I told her how sorry I was before I went to visit Queen Cathrine's final resting place to pay my condolences to her.
After I left there I was heading back to the castle to see if Mary would like to have lunch with me sometime but King Henry sidetracked me.
"So you're gonna Mrs.Charles Brandon? Do tell me are you doing it cause of his title?" he asked
"No, your highness I am not, for I have been in love with Charles before you gave him the title Duke of Suffolk" I replied
"But he ignored you and tried you as if you was one of his guy friends am I right?" he asked
I nodded my head
"You're correct your highness" I replied
"So why are you agreeing to marry him now?" he asked
"I was gonna leave since I deserve to be loved and have a husband and family which is what I told him. He then confessed his feelings for me and asked me to stay he told me he'd do anything I asked for me to not leave. And so we took care of the situation made amends and you permitted him to court me and to marry me soon" I answered
"Nothing to do with who he is close to or his title?" he asked
"If you'll allow me to speak freely without punishment for my words?" I requested
"GO on I swear and promise no punishment will come to you" he assured me
"Well your highness, I don't care who he is friends with. Whether it is you, the cardinal, or the pope. I am not wanting to be with him for that reason nor do I wanna be with him for some title that you can take from him if he pulls anything like he did when he secretly married your sister. I am in love with Charles cause I think that deep down he needs someone who will love him. And will understand him. Someone who he didn't marry for all the wrong reasons. Whether it is to keep her from marrying a really old king or suppose to marry his son. I am not a whore who only cares for men with titles. I could give two shits for it. And sir I think that's what one of your brides did." I tell him
He looked at me as if he wanted to kill me when I mentioned Anne.
"I don't mean to get you angered your highness I am just telling you what you asked and that is what I feel" I explained
"Very well. I hope you and Charles have a happy life and have plenty of kids" he says
"And I hope your next bride can grant you what you long for" I replied
He nodded his head and I bowed before he dismissed me.
I headed back home where I saw Charles was waiting for me.
"There you are what took so long?" he asked
"I went to say I'm sorry for your loss to Princess Mary, then when and paid my condolences to Queen Cathrine and was about to head back to talk more with Princess Mary when his Highness sidetracked me" I replied
"Oh and what all did you talk about?" he asked
"Us and if I'm wanting to marry you due to your title and who you're close with" I answered
"Well you not," he says
"I know and that's just what I told His highness."
"What else was said?"
"He told me he hopes you and I have a happy life and plenty of kids to which I replied I hope his next bride can grant him what he's longed for. After that he dismissed me and I came home."
"Well Edward is down for the night and his nanny quit saying she wants to die at her home since she has grown sick so his new nanny will be here tomorrow."
"Oh, that poor lady."
Charles agreed with me before moving back so I could walk in.
"Has the other servants made any dinner?"
"They just finished when you arrived."
I smiled
"Thank you for waiting for me."
