Last forever ( complete)

Since Charles's and my disagreement, we hadn't spoken to each other. Which is fine by me I much rather spend my time with Edward or just watching him.

That is what I've been doing as he was playing around with another little boy that's father came for a visit to speak with Charles.

I sat there watching as they played around and was using their imagination to make whatever they were playing seem more real to them.

What happened next I wasn't ready for.

I watched as the boy took the thick stick and hit Edward in the back of his head. I stood uplifted my dress and took off towards the boys as the kid kept hitting Edward in the Head.

"Stop it right now" I ordered the kid.

"You're not my mother nor are you his," the boy says as he went to hit Edward again but I grabbed the stick snatched it from his hands, and threw it away.

"I'm gonna tell my father" he cried

"Go ahead" I replied

He ran off and I knelt by Edward and lifted him carefully and turned him so he was facing up.

"Asilynn what happened?" I heard

"That little boy was beating Edward in the head with a big stick and I told him to stop which he told me I wasn't his mother nor was I Edward's then went to hit him again but I took and tossed the stick which the boy said he'd tell his father and I told him to go ahead" I explained

"Go get a doctor right now" Charles ordered a servant

"Boy is that true?" the guy asked

"No father it's not we were playing and Edward fell down" he claimed

"Sir he is lying I was sitting close by watching the whole thing and he took a huge stick and hit Edward in the back of his head like Mrs.Brandon said," one of our servants said

The gentleman apologized for what his son then took him away and spanking his ass. The sounds of the boy crying could be heard.

"Let's get him inside so when the doctor comes he will be in bed," Charles says

I nodded my head and let Charles take Edward from me as I stand up along with him and follow him into the house.

When the doctor arrived I told him what had happened and then say back on Edward's bed and watched as the Doctor did his job.

"Well, there is no severe brain damage that we will have to worry about. But for the next couple of days keep a close eye on him. And if you notice any changes then send for me. In the meantime keep a cool damp cloth on his forehead to help ease the pain he will feel once he wakes. And make sure he doesn't move too much" The doctor said

I smiled and leaned down kissing Edward's temple as Charles thanked the doctor as he walked out.

I looked over to where the basin & pitcher was before I got up and headed over to it.

I poured some of the cool water into the basin before grabbing a cool rag and soaking it before I rang it out and made my way, back over to Edward's side this time sitting where the doctor had.

I carefully placed the folded rag across Edward's head and creased his cheek.

"How is he doing?" Charles asked

"Well since you and the doctor walked out, he hasn't moved except when I placed the rag on his head " I replied

"I can't understand why that boy would do this to him" Charles says as he takes a seat in the chair near the bed.

"Well, I think he is a trouble maker in the making. He has a bad attitude, and enjoys inflicting pain on people."

Charles looked at me but I kept my eyes on Edward.

"Thank you, for stopping him from causing more harm to Edward," Charles says

At that time I did look up at him.

"He's my son, even if I had no hand in his creation. I will treat him as if he was my blood. Like I told you I would, and like I had since you hired me to be his, Charles, and Henry's nanny."

"I know but, Still I wanna thank you. And I also want to apologize for what happened when we had our fight. You are right about how I am treating him and he did have a right to be there celebrating with us. I am also sorry for dragging you and grabbing you hard. I deserve your threat of kneeing me in my groin and telling me what you had."

"Thank you for apologizing."

He smiled and nodded his head.

"Now do tell where it was you went that night?"

"I went back to the castle to drink. I didn't seek any ladies and when they came up to me offering I turned them down then came home where I slept right beside Edward knowing you wouldn't want to see me after our fight" he explained

"Well thank you for telling me when I asked. And thank you for turning them down. I am more than capable of making love to you and pleasing you sexually" I tell him

He smiled.

"Oh, baby I know. I mean we hardly did anything other than pleasuring each other on our wedding night" he said

I chucked as I turned my attention back to Edward and brushed his curls from his face.

"Your an amazing mom to him, and you'll be an amazing mom to our little one when they arrive," Charles says as he places his hand on my stomach.

I looked at him briefly and smile then look back at Edward waiting for him to wake up.
