Chapter 99

Jake's POV: So tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I'm kinda loosing my mind. I haven't bought a gift for Erika yet!! Wait! Wait.. I have a good reason. I thought about something. I don't know if I should do it tho. I'm going out with Lucas today, he's picking up something for Lily and I wanna talk to him about cause he knows Rik the longest. I got my phone and my wallet and went to his house. I was crossing the street and he was getting out.

Lucas: Sup man?

Jake: Hey

Lucas: Come on - we got in his car and drove to the mall. - So? What was your idea?

Jake: Well.. I was thinking.. I want to give her promise ring.

Lucas: Ok.

Jake: Like I promise I'll marry you someday type of ring.. - Lucas was a bit surprised

Lucas: That's a big promise Jake..

Jake: I know man, I know.. but.. I can't imagine my life without her. I truly feel that way. I wanna marry her some day, I wanna have a family with her.. 

Lucas: Ok, I got it, she's your happily ever after.

Jake: Yeah..

Lucas: What?

Jake: I don't know if she feels the same way..

Lucas: No, pfff of course not, you're not her longest relationship or anything like that. She hasn't told me she's really in love with you or anything like that either. Just to make it clear. - I parked the car

Jake: You mean that?..

Lucas: Jake, less drama would you? - I got out of the car - Besides, I would tell you if it wasn't  like that.

Jake: Thanks man

Lucas: So, have you ever given her any ring?

Jake: No, not rings

Lucas: Then you don't know her ring size

Jake: Shit..

Lucas: Don't worry

Jake: Do you?

Lucas: No. But I know that a ring that fits in my pinky, is those she uses on her pointer so it's like a size down

Jake: Oh.. good.

Lucas: Come on

We went into the mall.

Jake: What are you getting Lily?

Lucas: A necklace

Jake: Ok..?

Lucas: A moon, she's always saying I love you to the moon and back. You'll see. - we went to a little store and he showed me the necklace. It was really nice, really cute.
Then Lucas asked the lady to show us some promise rings

Lucas: Well, there you have it. Now choose

Jake: There's a lot of rings... - I was looking at them

Lucas: First let me see one - he put a random one in his pinky - Ok so.. the girl he's buying the ring for uses a ring this size in her pointer. Maybe a size down would fit?

Lady: Yes, most likely

Jake: And all of these are available in the size we need?

Lady: Yes

Jake: Jeez.. - I was looking till I just locked my eyes in one. It wasn't big, it was simple, and cute. A ring with a little heart and it was printed "only you". I don't know if it was great but it felt right - I want this one

Lucas: Nice. Do you have it?

Lady: Yes just a moment - she went inside

Lucas: So what you're thinking?

Jake: What?

Lucas: You're just gonna give her the ring?

Jake: No. We need to go to target, I need some things

Lucas: Alright.

A few minutes later, the lady came with the ring. She put it in a cute little box, and then the necklace as well.
We left the mall, went to target. Lucas bought himself a monster. I got some candy, a little box, and a little thing that printed pics in polaroid style.

Lucas: Are you taking her out somewhere?

Jake: It's good weather and all so I was thinking about taking her to watch the sunset in the back of the truck or something like that.

Lucas: Alright, do you need to buy something for that?

Jake: I don't think so, I got the candy, I have blankets back home. We'll grab food before..

Lucas: Alright, let's go then

Jake: Flowers! I need flowers

Lucas: You can buy them tomorrow

Jake: They won't die until tomorrow will they?

Lucas: No Jake - he rolled his eyes

Jake: Ok then, I like this one

Lucas: Alright, let's pay then

We went to his house and he helped me set it up. I printed some pics, put some crepe paper on the bottom, the box, a few of her favorite candy and some pictures of us in it as well. I closed it and it was kinda lame. Lucas painted a rose on the box and it looked great, he's really good a drawing so.

Lucas: Alright, all set

Jake: Thanks man, really

Lucas: No problem bro

Jake: Do you need help with anything?

Lucas: Nope - I nodded - Jake, relax. She'll love it.

Jake: I hope so man..

Lucas: I can feel your anxiety dude, calm down.

Jake: I'm trying! - he chuckled but I was actually freaking out

Eventually he went home. I was kinda nervous still. I don't know how she'll react. I have a cute afternoon planned out. I just really don't know what she'll think about it.
I put a pizza on the oven and just waited. When I realized I was in the kitchen walking back and forth. I just gotta relax, it will be fine, Lucas's right, she'll love it.
I got the pizza out, put on a plate and went to the living room. Trying to get my mind off the subject. Completely failing. It will be fine tho, she loves me, it's a cute and meaningful present. She'll love it!
Right?..
