a/n- random late night update cause why not :D

"call an ambulance! someone call an ambulance!" seungmin yelled through tears, running over and kneeling down to hyunjin, checking his pulse.

he was still breathing, barely at that, and the amount of blood surrounding him was very alarming.

felix was about to walk over to comfort seungmin, but jisung held him back.

"we should leave him alone. this is probably a lot for him to take in." the squirrel-like boy calmly said despite the current situation, though even he couldn't hide the shakiness of his voice. "the ambulance will be here soon."

everyone backed out of the washroom while seungmin muttered apologies to his unconscious friend, leaving him alone because none of them could imagine how devastated he must have felt.

all of them knew about seungmin's mutual feelings towards hyunjin. and all of them had planned this sleepover just so he could confess that very night.

but the timing didn't work out.

"jinnie, i'm so sorry. please wake up." seungmin cried, hugging hyunjin. "please."

hyunjin's eyes fluttered open momentarily, indicating that he was drifting in and out of consciousness.

"seungmin?" his voice was just a whisper.

"hyunjin i'm so sorry! i was so ignorant and i should've noticed that something was off with you!" seungmin said shakily. "i-i don't know exactly what's going on right now, and this might be the last chance i get to tell you this given the circumstances, but i like you, a lot. not friend-like, love-like. goddamnit, i should've told you a long time ago. and it's fine if you don't-"

seungmin was cut off by hyunjin's lips against his own. it was a soft kiss, all hyunjin could manage considering he was basically about to pass out, or maybe even something else that seungmin didn't want to imagine.

"minnie, of course i like you. i guess this isn't a very convenient way to prove it to you," hyunjin laughed, gesturing to the roses and petals all over the washroom. "but i really do."

his eyes were closing again, and all seungmin could do has hope to ambulance came soon while he hugged hyunjin.

"okay, ambulance is here!" minho yelled from downstairs.

seungmin kissed hyunjin on his cheek one more time before moving to the side so the paramedics could take hyunjin.

only two others were allowed to ride in the ambulance, so seungmin and jeongin were guided into the large white vehicle while chan gave everyone else a ride in minho's parents' car.

for what seemed like hours, the seven boys waited in the sitting area for a doctor to update them on the condition of their friend.

seungmin was the most nervous out of everyone, still crying and hugging felix, who was sitting right next to him. he couldn't help but feel that this was all his fault. if only he had been braver and just confessed to hyunjin earlier, then none of this would be an issue.

"don't beat yourself up over this. none of us could have known." changbin said to the crying boy. "hyunjin is strong, he'll be fine."

there was a lying guilt between chan and jisung, unknown to everyone else. they had no idea hyunjin's condition was so bad, but they both couldn't help but feel partially responsible.

"that's what he said when i noticed blood on his neck a few days ago!" seungmin nearly yelled, grabbing the attention of strangers sitting in the waiting room. "this is all my fault."

"no, it's not." jeongin firmly said. seungmin was surprised at how emotionally strong jeongin was being.

seungmin wailed out something inaudible, covering his face in his hands.

"shh. don't cry, minnie." felix said, hugging him. "everything will be okay."
