Cannibalistic Dreams

Listening to the silence inside her mind,

Hoping and pleading for those tears to dry.

Toxic thoughts, burn like acid,

Leaving her mind feeling completely placid.

Screams echoing inside her head,

There’s no comfort, even in bed.

Drifting to sleep, tired and weak,

Feeling as though she’d jumped, from the

highest peak.

Her mind is aching to the core,

Not sure she can take much more.

Keeping these screams all quiet inside her

head,

Thinking that soon she’ll end up dead.

Crying, sobbing, she often weeps,

Falling into a nightmare infested sleep.

These dreams are hungry,

Feeding off her mind, she’s angry.

Eating away at her sanity,

She might be in need of clarity.

Demons gnawing at each corner of her

brain,

She’s slowly, maybe surely, going insane.

These dreams each day,

Aren't really dreams per say.

They're nightmares, her reality and crushed

hopes,

Faltering happiness, she’s going down a

slippery slope.

Too many lucid hallucinations,

She needs a never ending vacation,

From this cruel reality,

The loss of her sanity,

And these parasites called nightmares.
