With Every Breath

So often,

She gave up on trying.

So often,

She resorted to lying..

So often, her words meant nothing, But everything in the same breath.

With every word and every breath,

She hoped the tunnel to happiness would bring light.

With every word she spoke of her trauma, She was a handful of earth away from unburying joy.

With every breath she took without regret,
She was further away from her suicidal ways.

With every word she spoke.
Was the memory of a foolish bloke.

With every word projected,
The memory of her needs being neglected.

But with each memory was the chance to get better the chance to be happier,
simply another chance.

She breathed because her life was worth living.
It wasn't pleasant, but worth it nonetheless.

She spoke because her words helped. Not only herself but each and every one of them.
She pushed forward because she believed.

She believed she could; soon she will.

She learned to breathe and speak, And with every breath, Her world was less bleak.
