Y/N'S EYES FLUTTERED as it slowly, but surely opened. He winced in pain as soreness started to take shape around his back. He flattened his palms on the bed, lifting himself up. That was before a voice in the room spoke up.

"Hey. Just relax, son." Steve said, walking towards Y/N, placing a hand on his shoulder. Y/N looked up, rubbing his eyes as he groaned. "Do you remember how you got here?"

Y/N squinted his eyes in thought before looking at Steve.

"Y-Yeah. Banner went coo-coo.. I-I think-- Is there any water here?" Y/N frantically looked around before a hand came out from the corner of his eye. Tony's hand holding a glass bottle filled with water.

Great, Both of them are here.

Y/N nodded at Tony before sipping the water, releasing a sigh. "How long have I been out?" He asked.

"Not too long." Tony answered. "Red,White, and Blue over here suggested on checking up on you. Took a hard hit."

Y/N lightly chuckled.

"Well- uhh.." He scratched the back of his head. "Did I miss anything?"

Tony and Steve looked down.

"Agent Coulson is down."

Y/N clenched his jaw, guilt rising. His frustrations appearing as his gripped on his H/C hair. Steve patted the man, not his first time losing someone either. The tears tempting to fall down Y/N's eyes. Speechless

"You know him a lot, do you?" Steve asked, Y/N could only nod. "Was he married?"

Y/N shook his head.

"I'm sorry." Steve sighed out. "He seemed like a good man."

"He was an idiot." Tony blurted out, causing Steve and Y/N to look at him, dumbfounded. "For taking on Loki alone."

"He was doing his job."

Tony huffed.

"He was out of his league." He said. "He should have waited. He should have--"

"Sometimes there's isn't a way out, Stark" Y/N interrupted, Steve had to nod in agreement. Causing Tony to scoff.

"Right heard that before--"

"Is it your first time losing a soldier?"

"We are not soldiers." Tony retorted. A moment of silence before he continued. "I'm not marching to Fury's fife."

"Neither are we." Steve pointed to himself and Y/N. "He's got the same blood on his hands that Loki does. But right now, we got to put that behind us and get this done."

Y/N nodded.

"Once this is all over, we could always part ways." He pointed out. "But anyway-- Loki needs a power source. If we can put together a list--"

"He made it personal."

Tony blurted, Steve and Y/N rolled their eyes.

"That's not the point."

"That is the point. That's Loki's point." Tony started. Y/N and Steve crossed their arms, open ears. "He hit us all right where we live. Why?"

Y/N's eyes widened as his head shot up in realization.
