"[Y/N]! There you are!"
I nearly jumped hearing that sudden screech from behind. Putting my hands up and looking at her gravely, Em apologized immediately and fixed herself.
"I have news!"
"Do tell."
"I'm gonna be representing my section for the pageant next month!"
As if still a child, her eyes glittered widely with elation. Her hand was seized by my own as I smiled. "Congratulations! I definitely can see you wearing the crown."
"Psh! You flatterer, thank you! Ooh, ooh, and how about in your section? Don't let me miss all the juicy stuff."
"It hasn't been announced yet. But I have a good grasp who it'll be."
Our conversation was suddenly cut off by the school bell. Lunch was over. What a bummer. Em and I had barely discussed.
