A few days later.
I had gotten accustomed to tedious two hour practices at school right after classes. Today was Friday. And most students would say it's their lucky day, but not for us pageant participants. Not only that—we had to practice tomorrow morning too—for us to learn a production number which would began right after our introductions. So, alas and yes, instead of lounging around like I desperately envisioned after having been constantly worn out those past few days, I had to go through the ordeal of continuously walking on spikes. Well, figuratively speaking. Those poor quality and inefficient heels would eventually be the death of me. Em and I had an agreement to shop for better ones, but that would be next or next next week because of our schedules.
As of the moment, we were having our usual twenty minute break. Participants were particularly called this time by their class advisors because of some announcement.
I decided to wait for Light and our advisor in our empty classroom. Light came in five minutes after me, accompanied by the news that our advisor still had other matters to attend to so we shouldn't expect him too soon. Not wanting to succumb to extreme boredom, I took out a book I had been carrying around lately in my backpack.
