Poem #7: Midnight Anxiety

Breathe in breathe out,

The clock is ticking,

There's no doubt,

The days are slipping,

Inhale and Exhale,

Keep your calm,

With the cacophony of advices,

Hide your qualms,

Holding onto hope, I can fake a smile,

Concealing despair, I can hide it for a while.

My mind's a mess,

I have so much to say,

But the words won't come out,

In my throat they stay,

One after the other,

Things just ensue,

I can't catch a break,

I just hope that later I won't rue,

Trying to stay afloat, in this tempest sea,

Can't even call for help, worries suffocating me.

Don't know what to think,

Don't know what to hear,

Don't know what to do,

Don't know what I fear,

Don't know if it's bad luck,

Don't know if it's just me,

Constantly at crossroads,

Feels as if choices aren't free,

Choking out sobs, teary eyes,

Vision all blurry, as I cry.

And soon they're gone, as if they were never there,

The cycle begins again: conceal, shut down, cry out and bear.
