By the tears of misery and hate,

From that drowning fate.
If ever the world is frozen,
By the numbness of death,
Please promise, to protect this heart,
From that piercing breath.
If ever the world is stormy,
By the winds of trouble,
Please promise, to protect this heart,
From the sad and dull.
If ever the world loses it's light,
By the shadows of woe,
Please promise, to protect this heart,
For it is all I trust and know...
