"Wow." Jungeun looked in awe at the array of fish that swam around her and Jinsol as they walked down the aquatic tunnel in Jinsol's favourite place to be, the aquarium. The tunnel was empty as Jinsol had pulled a few strings to cordon off the area for a half hour or so. The older girl had declared that in case things didn't go well this evening, she wanted to show Jungeun her comfort place at least once.

"I know right. It's crazy how beautiful fish are, the different colours, patterns, sizes. They're just... amazing." Jinsol beamed as she looked around but Jungeun wasn't looking at the fish anymore. She was examining the look of pure happiness on Jinsol's face as she looked around at the fish like she was in utopia, and for her it was. Jungeun couldn't help the smile creeping up on her own face as Jinsol carried on describing the different fish and finally felt like this was the moment she was waiting for. With everything on the line today, she decided to switch off her cold front just for the moment so she could enjoy it with Jinsol and as today might have been one of her last being in her company like this, she decided it was the perfect time to have the long awaited conversation. "Jinsol. What are we?"

"Uh, humans?"

"You know what I mean." Jinsol turned to face the younger girl and shortened the distance between them, not getting any closer as she was unsure of Jungeun's wishes were at the moment. "Well, what do you want us to be?"

"I want you. I want this. But, not as friends." Jungeun cringed at herself as she struggled to find the words. "The past few months have been a lot for me, but the one thing that I want more than anything right now is to be with you."

Jinsol stayed silent for a moment and looked around contemplatively. Jungeun was growing worried until she saw a smirk form on the other girl's face and now she was just terrified. Jinsol put her arms around Jungeun's waist and pulled her closer. "So you don't want to be my friend, then what do you wanna be? Best friends?"

Jungeun rolled her eyes as she realised where this conversation was going. "Jinsol don't make me say it."

"Say what? That you want me as your bestest friend?"

"Sol! Come on, stop being a tease for once."

Jinsol ignored her pleas and carried on rambling. "You know this means we can do all the things besties do, friendship bracelets, sleepovers, the whole works. I don't think Jiwoo would be too happy if she finds out that you're replacing her with me, but I guess she'll get over it. And-"

Jungeun finally shut the girl up as she pulled her down by the collar of her coat and pressed her lips against Jinsol's. Jinsol immediately fell into the kiss as she tilted her head slightly and pulled Jungeun even closer if that was even possible. This was the missing piece in her life that she desperately needed and for that one moment it felt like no one else existed in her world, it was just them. Jungeun and Jinsol. When she was almost out of breath, Jungeun pulled back and rested her forehead against Jinsol's. "Girlfriend. I want you to be my girlfriend."

"Well, you could've just said that." Of course Jinsol couldn't keep serious for one moment but Jungeun wouldn't have it any other way. She cupped the taller girl's face in her hands, smiling at her lovingly and with no one but each other around them, nothing could ruin the feeling of contentment in Jungeun's heart.
