It had been a month since me and Legolas had been married, and a lot had changed.

Mirkwood had been rebuilding itself after the end of the War, and Aragorn had been crowned king of Gondor and Arnor, thus uniting the kingdoms.

King Thranduil had let me in charge of rebuilding part of Mirkwood, and so I took it upon myself to try and make the place brighter, by gathering groups of elves to make holes in the roof.

Over time, I planned to re invent Mirkwood, by taking the layer of ground away and building into the trees. It would take years, but I figured I needed a project.

It was the height of summer, and everything was very much at peace. The trees outside Mirkwood had begun to grow, and with Lady Galadriel's help, the darkness at Dol Guldur was vanquished.

As I walked through the halls, Maethorhest came up to me. She was out of breath.

"What's up?" I asked, as she bent over her knees.

"The king.. Wants.. To see you.." She panted, and I wondered why she had been running.

"Okay...? Why the hurry then?" I asked, as she looked up at me, her face red.

"Oh no, I was just getting some exercise, need to shape up for bikini season you know?" She said, as I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Right, well I suppose I'll go and see what the King wants." I said, as I broke into a light jog, and the corridors in Thranduil's halls are really long.

I knocked on a large door, as I heard him say a quick 'come in', before I pushed the door open.

"Erynriel, you don't need to knock, this is your home now- or bow, I'm your father in-law." He said, as I stopped mid bow and stood up awkwardly.

"You wanted to see me?" I asked, as he motioned for me to come towards him.

"I have something important to tell you. Since you've made such a positive impact on all of our lives, and Legolas tells me your quite the fighter, I'd like to make a formal request that you become Captain of my Guards." He said, as my eyes rose.

"Are you sure? Because I don't have any training commanding a group of soldiers." I say, and he looks at me with humour.

"That, my love, is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. You commanded a group of soldiers at Helms Deep, and you've fought Orcs when you and Legolas first met. I don't believe that you have no experience I'm afraid." He said, and I felt myself go red.

I felt excitement burst in my chest, as I surpassed he urge to jump up and down. Captain of the Guards?! No way.

"I'd love to!" I said, and Thranduil smiled.

"Good. You also have to decide what you want your title to be- because elves don't have surnames, you can be known as 'Princess of Mirkwood' or 'Forest Princess'." He said.

"Why forest princess?" I asked.

"Because elves can choose to have their title as the meaning of their name, so Legolas is Legolas Greenleaf or Legolas Thranduilion." He explained, and I paused for thought.

"Well I'm not sure, I don't really know to be honest." I said, and he nodded.

"It's okay, you don't have to decide now. Oh! And I have an announcement to make later to the Kingdom, would you mind telling Legolas? Actually, in fact I'll do it now." He said in a hurry, as he breezed past me.

I ran after him, as I wondered what the announcement could be about.

*
"My people, I have gathered you here to day to announce a change! As you know, my son recently married Princess Erynriel, who has helped us so much. She brought life back to where we thought there was none, and she brought happiness to places lost in misery. She has brought light back to us." He said, as Legolas took my hand as I blushed.

Everyone clapped and some cheered, as Thranduil started speaking again they all fell silent.

"So, in commemoration of the end of the War, and the bringing of a new Princess, I have decided to rename Mirkwood, once Greenwood the Great. From now on, our kingdom shall be known as Eryn Lasgalen, forest of Greenleaves!" He said, as my jaw dropped.

He's naming his kingdom after me? Legolas leant over and hugged me, as I smiled at Thranduil over his shoulder. He smiled back, as someone in the front of the crowd cheered.

"Long live the Princess of the Forest!"

Awwhhhhh cuteeeee :3 Mirkwood is now known as "Eryn Lasgalen", which actually means Wood of Greenleaves, but Eryn can also mean forest and I thought Forest sounded nicer than Wood.

It's very nearly over, Erynriel is princess and Legolas is princes, and it's very nearly it for the first part of their lives, but there is still a few chapters so please vote!!!

Thank you for reading yet again ;)
