"Okay, so have we decided on a theme yet?"
Me and Legolas exchanged awkward glances, and I slowly shook my head, as our wedding planner, Amartheldis, helped us decide on a theme. She sighed, and wrote something down on a pad of paper, before adjusting her glasses on her nose.
I hadn't quite realised how much of a big deal this wedding was, about how many people needed to be involved. When I imagined weddings, I imagined simple town hall ones, with blue and pink flowers. However, Legolas has informed me that this is a Royal Wedding.
"Well, as this is a Royal Wedding, you two shall be betrothed in the Hall of Elenath, and then a feast of your families." She continues talking, but I winced. I hadn't really thought about the fact that I had no one to give me away. And now, I felt a sickness inside me.
Legolas reached over and took my hand, his eyes bright with concern.
I know, melleth nin, but don't worry, we'll figure something out.
I try and smile, but now the thought it nagging, and even though I am genuinly happy right now, sadness creeps from under my heart once again. I brush it off, and focus on what Amartheldis is saying."I think we will go for a golden theme, yes. Oh no, maybe not.... What do you two want, give me something to work with!" She almost yells, and I can tell she has a lot of pressure on her by Thranduil. I think about what I would like, but my mind is blank.
Legolas has no better ideas, so I suggest something.
"How about we go for Silver, and we can have a starlight theme, because we are getting married in the Elenath, so it would make sense." I suggest, and she begins to write frantically. I sigh, and Legolas pats my hand, and I squeeze his.
"Okay, I can work with this, yes. I will see you two sometime nearer the occasion, oh! I almost forgot, the wedding is in mid May this year, you have a few months of planning, to get ready and so forth. Make sure to work with the Cake Artists and the tailors before then, as well as sending invites. See you in a few weeks!" She calls, as she bundles up her stuff and leaves.
I lean back in my chair, and sigh. This is going to be stressful as hell.
"This is a big deal then to Mirkwood?" I ask, and Legolas smiles, and shrugs.
"Well, you are going to be the future Queen of Mirkwood, so it is a big deal in that way, but I just want you to be happy, we don't need a big wedding for that I hope." He says, and I smile, whilst he still holds my hand, gently running his fingers over my engagement ring.
"Well, I suppose we may as well sort out the invites now." I say, breathing in and grabbing a quill and some parchment.
Legolas sits up straighter, and rests his hands on the table next to me.
Legolas and Erynriel's Wedding List
I write the title and turn to him, chewing the end of the feathers.
"Okay, so lets start off with closest friends, not family thought." I say, and start to wirte as he lists who will be invited specially. As well as all of these, royals from across Middle Earth will attend, as well as most of Mirkwood. There will be an awful lot of people around the streets, as we will have to walk to get to the feast room.
