I growled and screwed my eyes shut. I slowly opened my eyes and glared at her. The group of she-wolves that were stood around her had quickly moved away from her. I could feel my body beginning to shake. Images of Rhydian flooded my mind, I focused my senses and his scent washed over me. I took a deep breath and slowly felt myself calm down.

I felt Rhydian and Lucas behind me, closer than they were. "Rogues took Alex and me when we were 14. They wanted us because of our wolves. They came to us when we were 13." I said, keeping my eyes fixed on her. I heard my Uncle Tristan gasp, he'll be questioning me later...

"Alex saved my life. He died getting me te safety. It was the worst feeling in the word, feeling your twin brother die." I snarled. "That's why my brother isn't here."

How insensitive can she be? If she wanted to know about my brother there are better ways to about it.

"If kidnapping, torturing and killing my brother wasn't enough. They cocked up a plan to get me. They used a potion called Matebane." I was raging now, "They didn't just try once... They did it twice." I hissed. Her face didn't break at all, she held her scowl perfectly. "So, yes I did have a fake mate." I growled, "But not by fucking choice."

"Well-" Selena started.

"Stop!" Rhydian growled. His eyes were pitch black, his hands in balls at his side and his back straight and tense. "It doesn't matter why she left. I will not have you disrespecting her." He barked out. Her expression changed. She looked down at the floor and pouted. "I don't know what you have against Amaris," He said.

Her head shot up and she glared at me,  "She attacked me." She shrieked, pointing her finger towards me. I took a deep breath as everyone started gasping and mumbling between themselves.

"Ezra, Elijah...escort her to my office," Rhydian ordered. They both stood up and made their way to her, she started shouted and whining as they escorted her out. Everyone kept mumbling between each other, glancing at me now and again.

"That's enough!" I bellowed. My Alpha voice making its appearance for the first time in 3 years. My aura spread through the hall, I glanced between Lucas and Rhydian and they were looking at me in shock. Tristan was staring at me proudly. All eyes were fixed on me. I could just imagine the smug look on Aurora's face right now.

"What she says is true, I did attack her but I apologised. She provoked me after I apologised, telling me how I was a rogue and I killed my dad. I lost control after she said he died thinking I didn't care." I had to tell them why I did it, I don't want them thinking I go around attacking wolves for no reason.

"You were going through a lot, no one expected you to come back full of smiles." One pack member smiled.

"We don't need to know why you did it... You apologised, that's all that matters." Another voiced.

Ezra entered into the hall and nodded at Rhydian. He ambled down the aisle between the chairs, stopping in front of us. "I think I speak for everyone here." He declared, holding his arms outstretched on either side of him. "We're glad to have our Alpha home." He quipped with a boyish grin on his face.

I rolled my eyes at him. "So, is it settled? Is everyone ok with Amaris staying?" He spoke through gritted teeth. He was trying his hardest to keep his cool and I was impressed. I could see the struggle on his face, he wanted to overrule everyone and keep me here no matter what. But, this pack will succeed if everyone is treated fairly. They need to feel safe...

Even if that means I need to leave.

'Spoken like a true Alpha.' Aurora purred, proudly.

"This is her home."

"We're behind you."

"Welcome Home, Alpha Amaris."

"That brings the pack meeting to an end. If anyone has any questions for Amaris, you may ask her one on one." Rhydian said. Lucas stepped forward, "Just don't overwhelm her." He added.

"Gee, I am still here you know," I muttered quietly to myself. Everyone chuckled as they exited the hall. "I'm proud of you." Lucas praised, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I hummed in response and rested my head on his shoulder. "You kept calm even when Selena started. You're getting good at control" He wrapped his other arm around me and pulled me in for a hug.

"Speaking of Selena..." Rhydian interrupted, "What do you want me to do?" He questioned.

"Just give her another warning. Tell her it's her last." I burned to look at Rhydian, "Next time, she'll deal with me." I declared. Rhydian chuckled and nodded before heading to the exit.

I glanced back at Lucas, he was smiling like a cheshire cat at me. "What's with the big cheesy grin?" I shrugged. He chuckled lightly. "It's just nice to see a glimpse of the old you." I laughed and shrugged.

"I feel better than I have felt in years." I admitted, "It's the mate bond." Tristan whispered in my ear, I yelped and stumbled a little. "Are you trying to kill me?" I groaned. "Not right now," He shrugged.

"Wow, thank you so much," I said, sarcastically. He shooed Lucas away with his hand, I raised my brow at him. "You and I are going to have a little chat." He said a matter of factly. I groaned and stumbled after him as he dragged me to the door.

We stopped outside of the building and Tristan smirked at me. "I'm not walking far!" I rolled my eyes. He laughed, rolling his eyes. "I'm just going to walk back to the packhouse with you." He added, gesturing his head towards the house.
