Rhydian's posture changed, he stood straighter. He was going into Alpha mode. "Where?" He ordered. Ezra stood straight and bowed his head slightly. "South." He answered before hurrying out of the room. Watching their interaction between Alpha and pack member was quite something. Rhydian being all dominant was doing things to me. I took a deep breath, there's a time and place for that.

Rhydian turned his head to me with a smirk on his face. "Later, baby." He winked. I rolled my eyes, I've learned that when I get these kinds of feelings he can sense my arousal, as Aurora said. "Stay here and don't leave." He demanded using his Alpha voice, I raised my brow at him. Really? Using his Alpha voice on me, he really thought that was going to work. I shook my head, "Come on, we need to see what's going on." I said pushing him out of the room.

He dug his heels into the floor, "No, I'm being serious. Stay here." He deadpanned. "You can either spend all day trying to get me to submit or you can move your arse and we'll go see what's going on." I glared at him. I walked around him and kept going. I called Aurora forward, closed my eyes quickly and took a quick deep breath.

'Ready!' Aurora yapped.

I looked over at my shoulder at him and smirked, "I'll never submit to you." I added a wink at the end before running down the stairs. I passed the mirror on the wall and stopped. I looked in the mirror shocked, my eyes weren't black like I assumed they would be when Aurora comes forward. They were red, maybe I am learning more control over the Dark Wolf. I turned towards the door but was pulled back by Rhydian. "You're coming with me." He deadpanned.

He marched out of the door, dragging me with him. "Hey, I can walk on my own." I chuckled. "If you aren't going to stay safe, I'll keep you by my side where I know you're safe." He grunted. "Also, your eyes are still red." He added, glancing over at me. I focused on Aurora and tried forcing her back. I need to find out what's happening with my wolf. My eyes tingled and I knew they had gone back to normal.

'Thanks, Rory!' I chuckled.

I glanced at Rhydian, "Is that better?" I asked sarcastically. He looked at me and smiled, "I happen to like your eyes no matter what colour they are." He smirked. "Red suits you. You're my feisty little Red." He winked. My heart swelled at the use of the nickname. "And what are you, the big bad wolf?" I chuckled.

We reached the forest and Rhydian pulled me close. He leaned into me as we neared the border, "All the better to eat you with, my dear." He whispered. I gulped and shivered. I'm not sure what he means by that but I sure as hell want to find out. "Control yourself, Red. I can smell you." He groaned. I shoved his shoulder and rolled my eyes. "Don't say things like that then." I hissed.

As we arrived where the injured was. There was a little crowd surrounding him, Rhydian cleared his throat as we approached them. They parted, giving Rhydian a little walkway to the wolf. Everyone was glancing at me and then back at the wolf. As the wolf came into view I understood why they were all staring at me.

The wolf was laid on his side, with a deep gash down his stomach. He was covered in blood, it was everywhere. But you could clearly see he was a jet black wolf, his fur was matted from the amount of blood covering his fur. He was huge, probably the same size as my wolf. He looked exactly like my wolf minus the blood. I stepped closer as Rhydian pulled my arm back. "What are you doing?" He snapped. I growled at him quietly. "I'm just checking something. He's unconscious, he can't hurt me." I rolled my eyes.

As I got closer to him, I noticed he had no scent or his scent was masked by the blood. "Can you tell how old someone is by their wolf form?" I asked no one in particular, bending down next to the wolf. "Not really, Alpha. I would say he's young though." One of the border patrols answered. "Amaris, what is it?" Rhydian asked, coming over and crouching down next to me.

I scanned my eyes over the wolf before grabbing my shirt and ripped a piece of fabric off. I leaned forward and lifted the wolf's head. "Amaris," Rhydian warned. I shook my head and carried on. I carefully wiped the blood from the wolf's left ear, but it wasn't coming clean. "Does anyone have any water or anything?" I asked quickly. Everyone was looking at me funny, no one moved or spoke. "Well do you?" I snapped.

A bottle of water was passed to me, I quickly opened it and poured some on the fabric. I rubbed the fabric against the wolf's ear again until the blood came off. I dropped the bottle on the ground and fell back shocked. I was heaving, trying to catch my breath. This can't be happening.

"Amaris, what's wrong?" Rhydian asked, kneeling in front of me. "No, no, no." I shook my head. I backed away from the wolf still sat on the floor. "He's dead." I shrieked. Rhydian looked back at the wolf and shook his head. "No, he's alive Amaris." He tried reaching for my hands but I cowered away. My head was spinning and I couldn't see straight. "Amaris, stay with me," Rhydian whispered or maybe he shouted, there's a ringing sound in my ears it's distorting everything.

Rhydian's speaking, I can see his lips moving but I cant understand. Everywhere is blurry, I held my head in my hands and began rocking back and forth. "No no no no no no." I kept muttering to myself. I felt Rhydian's arms around me then he was picking me up bridal style. He cradled me to his chest and started walking. My eyes became heavy, I closed them and Rhydian shook me. I glanced up at him, his lips are moving again but I can't work out what he's saying. I felt a tear run down my cheek, I closed my eyes and welcomed the darkness spreading around me like a protective blanket.
