I pulled away from Alex and wiped my eyes. I smiled at him, "I can't believe you're really here." I mused. He chuckled and nodded. He led me towards a sofa next to a window. I sat down with him taking a seat next to me. "So, I know the basics of what happened to you. Malia told me." I muttered. "I felt you die, well not die but I felt what I thought was you dying," I whispered. "I don't remember everything I've been through. Bits and pieces are missing, but I know the main things." He explained. "Rhydian said something while we were looking for you... He said that Selena had been provoking you since you came back." He pondered, "Where have you been? I know Rhydian's your mate but you aren't marked... How is he the Alpha?" He asked, looking confused.

I took a deep breath and sighed. "I need to start from the beginning," I stated, he nodded and kept his gaze on me. I told him everything, by the end, I was sobbing quietly. He threw his arms around me and sniffled. "I'm so sorry you went through all of that." He whispered. "I didn't know about any of that. They kept me on a need to know basis." He muttered. I nodded and pulled back. "I'm just glad you're alive." I smiled. "Same. I thought you all had died. I mean, I didn't know you were so close." He sighed. I took ahold of his hands and smiled, "You're here now." I took a deep breath and squeezed his hands. "I know about your son..." I hesitated, his eyes went wide. "I can help you find him if you want?" I offered. He gave me a bright smile and nodded.

"Listen, how much do you know about our wolves?" He asked. I shook my head, "Not much... Apart from the basics." I answered. "Do you know we're Dark wolves because of a threat?" He questioned. I nodded and sighed, "But I don't know what threat or if Benjamin and the rogues were the threat." I explained. He nodded and took a deep breath. "I think Benjamin was the biggest threat. I mean, if he did get what he wanted he'd be unstoppable." He shuddered. "But he was a threat because we are Dark Wolves." I mused. "Maybe he was a threat, either way, maybe he would have done something entirely different." He mentioned.

I sighed and nodded. "We'll just say he was the threat and if he wasn't, we'll deal with it." I smiled. "That barrier thing you did in the woods... Is that your ability?" I questioned. I'm curious because if I have abilities, would we have the same because we're twins and when did his abilities come. I haven't shown any signs I don't think.

"Yes, do you have any?" He asked. I shook my head, "No, I haven't." I replied. He hummed in response. "But, I didn't get my ability until I was mated." He added. "Hmm, I know we reach our full potential when we are fully marked and mated." I awkwardly stated. Talking about mating with my brother is definitely on a list of what not to talk about. "How long have you known Rhydian?" He asked, glancing back at Rhydian.

I sighed and ran my hands through my hair. "10 days," I answered. "Most of that was spent hiding from him," I chuckled. He looked back at me and raised his brow, "I had my necklace that masked my scent, I knew Rhydian was my mate when I first came back... Well, I didn't, I thought he was using Matebane so I didn't say anything." I sighed.

"How are you feeling now you're back?" I asked, smiling at him. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "To be honest, it's overwhelming. Everyone has changed, including you." He whispered. "You aren't the Amaris I remember." He muttered, glancing at me from the corner of his eye. I nodded and chuckled, "That's because I'm an adult now." I teased. He shook his head and sighed, "No, you don't have the same spark anymore." He sighed, "I know it's because of what you've been through, but you aren't the bubbly Amaris I knew." He whimpered as his eyes filled with tears.

I took a deep breath and nodded. "I'm slowly healing. Been back here with the pack has helped and Rhydian, he's helped too." I admitted. "He was the reason I spoke about you, after 9 years of not uttering your name," I confessed. "It was too hard to talk about you." I sighed. He nodded and wrapped his arm around my back. "I'm not going anywhere now, you're stuck with me." He chuckled pulling me into his side.

"Amaris," Rhydian whispered. I jumped up and looked at Alex, "Did you hear that?" I choked, making sure I wasn't hearing things again. A huge grin spread across his face and he nodded excitedly. I rushed to his side and picked up his hand, "Rhydian, open your eyes." I spoke gently. Alex came and stood next to me, watching.

Rhydian's eyes fluttered open. He blinked a few times before glancing over at us. His eyes went wide and he gripped my hand that was holding his. "You're alive." Relief washed over his face. I nodded and smiled at him, "You are too. I thought I lost you for a minute there." I muttered. He glanced between Alex and me, "Wow you really are twins. The resemblance is uncanny." He chuckled.

"Glad to have you back, Alpha." Alex smiled at him. "I'll give you two some time. 5 minutes and I'm letting the nurse know you're awake." He added before winking at us and leaving. I chuckled and kneeled beside his bed.

Rhydian glanced at me and frowned. He set his hand on my face and swiped the tears that had fallen, "Hey, what's wrong?" He soothed. I rested my forehead on the bed and took deep breaths trying to calm down. He laced his fingers through my hair and started massaging my head. I blew out a breath and sighed. "I thought I was never going to see you again then when I found you, I thought I was going to lose you," I whispered. He didn't say anything, he kept moving his fingers around my head, letting me continue. "I don't let people in, I keep them as far away as possible. But..." I took a deep breath and let out a shaky breath. "You wormed your way into my heart little by little." I choked.

"Amaris." He spoke softly. I shook my head, "I think the threats over now... But it may never be because of who I am. If you want out, you need to tell me before I fall deeper." I sobbed. He lifted my head off the bed and slowly pushed himself off the bed so he was kneeling in front of me. He winced as he lifted my face to his. My bottom lip was quivering and my vision was slightly blurry due to the tears that were building in my eyes.

"If I have to tell you every day how much you mean to me and that I'm not going anywhere, I will." He deadpanned. I looked away and tucked my bottom lip between my teeth. He directed my gaze back to him, his eyes darted between my eyes and lips. I looked away again, blushing and staring at the floor.

I believe him, I do. There's still that little niggling feeling that it's too good to be true but I know that is going to take a while to go away.

He put both hands on my face and carefully but forcefully made me look at him. "I love you, Amaris Thorne." He declared with so much conviction. My heart started beating rapidly as he leaned forward and skimmed his lips against mine, I held my breath. "I mean it," He whispered as he pressed his lips against mine so tenderly, I exhaled before pressing my lips harder into him. "I love you, Red." He mumbled against my lips before kissing me, pouring so much love into the kiss.
